Cardiovascular risk burden, dementia risk and brain structural imaging markers: a study from UK Biobank by Ting Li, Jing Chen, Yan Zheng, Klodian Dhana, Geng Zong, Yuan Ma, Trudy Voortman, Wei Gan, Yaying Cao, Yonghua Hu, Changzheng Yuan, Jie Shen, Gaohong Zhu, Chengwu Feng

    Published 2024-02-01
“…We observed an 83% (95% CI: 47% to 128%) higher all-cause dementia risk comparing the high–high versus low–low FGCRS–PRS category. For brain volumes, higher FGCRS was associated with greater log-transformed white matter hyperintensities, smaller cortical volume and smaller grey matter volume. Conclusions Our findings suggest that the positive association of cardiovascular risk burden with dementia risk also applies to major dementia subtypes. …”

Clinical portrait of a patient with acute coronary syndrome and type 2 diabetes mellitus: a novel strategy for the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment by M.I. Shved, I.O. Yastremska, L.V. Levytska, V.Yu. Kuchmiy, O.A. Prokopovych, Ya.M. Kitsak, R.M. Liakhovych

    Published 2024-11-01
“…The characteristic clinical feature in a patient with ACS and T2DM is a severe condition, which is due to a combined multi-vascular involvement of coronary arteries (which is 10.5 times more frequent in these patients) and larger volumes of myocardial necrosis. Such individuals have more pronounced manifestations of necrosis-resorption syndrome, a significant increase in left ventricular myocardial mass and volume due to an increase in diastolic and systolic dimensions, which suggests hypertrophy and cardiac remodeling with impaired systolic function (ejection fraction of less than 50 %) and impaired diastolic function; the latter is considered an impairment of relaxation processes. …”

Effect of Buyang Huanwu Decoction Foot Bath on Pulmonary Rehabilitation of Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease at Stable Phase by HUANG Huirong, HAN Xueqi, LIU Qinyu, XUE Jialu, YU Zhenling, CHEN Bin, MIAO Shaofang, CHEN Shuifeng

    Published 2021-10-01
“…At both the before treatment and after treatment for two weeks, the percentage of forced expiratory volume in 1 second to predicted value (FEV1%pred) and forced expiratory volume in 1 second/forced vital capacity (FEV1/FVC) were used to evaluate the changes of pulmonary function in COPD patients at stable phase; the change of locomotor ability was observed by 6-minute walk distance (6MWD); the changes in the degree of dyspnea were assessed using the dyspnea scale of modified British Medical Research Council (mMRC); the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease assessment test (CAT) was used to observe the changes of patients' quality of life; the anxiety inventory for respiratory disease (AIR) was used to evaluate the change of anxiety. …”

    Published 2025-01-01
“…These parameters include variable thermal conductivity, nonlinear thermal radiation, Hartman number, and hybrid nanoparticle volume fraction. Finally, this method will provide some insights into the usefulness of MHD hybrid nanofluid flow in convergent-divergent channels, and the results produced by the analytical data have also been strengthened and verified by the use of numerical data as well as data from the literature.…”
