Analysis of the fatigue strength under two load levels of a stainless steel based on energy dissipation by B. Atzori, G. Meneghetti, M. Ricotta

    Published 2013-04-01
“…In the first part of the work the results obtained under constant amplitude fatigue are presented and synthesised in terms of both stress amplitude and energy released to the surroundings as heat by a unit volume of material per cycle, Q. Then some specimens have been fatigued in variable amplitude, two different load level tests: the first level was set higher while the second was lower than the constant amplitude fatigue limit. …”

Analysis of Earth Dam Break of a Reservoir Based on BREACH Model by LIU Fengru, ZHAO Yuhao, ZHAN Damei

    Published 2021-01-01
“…Frequent rain and flood may lead to earth dam break, resulting in serious consequences. Therefore,it is necessary to analyze the dam break and its impact.Based on the BREACH model, this paper studies the earth dam break of a reservoir. The results show that:in the piping dam break mode, with the increase of flood magnitude, the maximum breach discharge, final breach width and cumulative discharge also increase.Under the same flood magnitude, the maximum breach discharge and final average breach width of overtopping dam break are large, and the relative risk is great. In the given scheme, the earthquake emergency is safer than that in other schemes. In addition, the cumulative discharge is equal to the sum of initial storage capacity and inflow volume, which verifies the rationality of the calculation results from the model.…”

Impact of overload factor on uplink SCMA system by Hongyang ZHANG, Changliang ZHENG, Yu LU, Huaping LIU

    Published 2018-06-01
“…Sparse code multiple access (SCMA) is regarded as a promising multiple access technology for 5G because of its excellent performance. One of the major challenges that 5G networks are facing is the massive connectivity in terms of both data volume and the number of devices, thus SCMA must be capable of coping with transmission overload.Analyzing the performance of the uplink SCMA system in overloading scenarios was focused on.At first, the influence of the overloading factor on the detection and decoding complexities and error performances of the uplink SCMA system were analyzed. Then,by establishing the relationship between the overloading factor and the average sum-rate,the impact of the overloading factor on the transmission rate of the uplink SCMA system was analyzed.Extensive numerical results are provided to verify the accuracy and insights derivable from the analytical results.…”
