Considérations ontogénétiques et phylogénétiques concernant l’origine de la parole
Published 2011-10-01“…We analyzed 31 skulls from now to 1.5 Ma (millions years) BP (Before Present) for fossil hominids available at the Muséedel’Homme in Paris or in the literature: (1) 10-30 ka BP: modern humans: Paleolithic; (2) 90-200 ka BP: anatomically modern humans; (3) 45-90 ka BP: Neanderthals; (4) 1.5 Ma BP: Homoergaster; These skulls are all well kept and possess a jaw in the majority of cases but the vertebral column has been reconstituted. We attempt to: (1) Localize hyoid bone and then glottis position; (2) Reconstitute a vocal tract model in a plausible way using an articulatory model; (3) Quantify the acoustic capabilities of this reconstituted vocal tract. …”

Catastrophizing as a Predictor for Pain Perception and Disability Among Patients Undergoing Spinal Cord Stimulation
Published 2025-01-01“…The spinal cord stimulation procedure involved the placement of electrodes at vertebral levels T8–T11 for precise pain control, with a particular focus on targeting the dorsal root ganglion to alleviate chronic pain. …”

Revealing the biological features of the axolotl pancreas as a new research model
Published 2025-01-01“…Current animal models, primarily mice and zebrafish, have limited the exploration of pancreatic biology from an evolutionary-developmental perspective. Tetrapod vertebrate axolotl (Ambystoma mexicanum) serves as a valuable model in developmental, regenerative, and evolutionary biology. …”

Systematic identification of secondary bile acid production genes in global microbiome
Published 2025-01-01“…ABSTRACT Microbial metabolism of bile acids (BAs) is crucial for maintaining homeostasis in vertebrate hosts and environments. Although certain organisms involved in bile acid metabolism have been identified, a global, comprehensive elucidation of the microbes, metabolic enzymes, and bile acid remains incomplete. …”

Effect of Estradiol-17β Injection on Gonad Development of White Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei)
Published 2007-01-01“… The methods for hormonal control of shrimp reproduction are very limited, and only eyestalk ablation is used to induce ovarian development and spawning in shrimp farming. The occurrence of vertebrate-type steroid hormones in crustaceans have been reported, however, their physiological role are not sufficiently understood. …”

Mark loss can strongly bias estimates of demographic rates in multi-state models: a case study with simulated and empirical datasets
Published 2023-12-01“…To fill this knowledge gap, we employed a wide range of simulation scenarios that reflect commonly encountered real case studies, drawing inspiration from the survival rates of 700 vertebrate species. Using a multi-state, Arnason-Schwartz (AS) modelling framework, we estimated the effects of mark loss and recycled individuals on parameter estimates. …”
