Using the fuzzy cognitive map in designing a decision support system in diabetes insipidus
Published 2024-11-01“…Because the initial symptoms of diabetes insipidus are very similar to diabetes mellitus and the differential diagnosis of different types of diabetes insipidus is important, this disease was investigated in the current research.Methodology: In this research, based on library studies and using the experiences and opinions of experts, the factors of central and renal diabetes insipidus were examined and determined; then, using Spss, FCMapper, and Pajek software, fuzzy cognitive maps were analyzed in order to investigate factors and relationships between them.Findings: The results of the analysis of fuzzy cognitive maps in central diabetes insipidus, the factors that improve urine concentration after taking vasopressin and urine volume > 40 ml/kg and osmolarity of 300 mosom/l, and in renal diabetes insipidus, the factors of kidney failure Synthetic vasopressin use (no change in urine concentration) and hyperuria were identified as the most influential and important variables that should be given special attention.Originality/Value: So far, no definitive treatment has been discovered for this disease, and if a person is infected with it, it will affect him for the rest of his life. …”

The impact of endolymphatic hydrops on wideband acoustic immittance and otoacoustic emissions in guinea pigs
Published 2025-01-01“…We aimed to evaluate the effects of EH on WAI and OAEs.ObjectiveThis study explores the potential of wideband acoustic immittance (WAI) and otoacoustic emissions (OAEs) for the early detection of changes in acoustic transmission associated with vasopressin-induced endolymphatic hydrops (EH) in a guinea pig model.MethodsWe induced EH in guinea pigs via daily intraperitoneal injections of arginine vasopressin over 14 consecutive days. …”

Small Cell Lung Cancer Patient with Profound Hyponatremia and Acute Neurological Symptoms: An Effective Treatment with Fludrocortisone
Published 2015-01-01“…Here we report a case of SCLC patient with severe hyponatremia and acute neurological symptoms that developed 2 days after the first course of second-line chemotherapy, most probably due to the release of antidiuretic hormone (ADH, also known as arginine vasopressin) during lysis of the tumour cells. Initial treatment consisted of continuous administration of hypertonic saline that resulted in improvement of patient’s neurological status. …”

The Prorenin and (Pro)renin Receptor: New Players in the Brain Renin-Angiotensin System?
Published 2012-01-01“…It is well known that the brain renin-angiotensin (RAS) system plays an essential role in the development of hypertension, mainly through the modulation of autonomic activities and vasopressin release. However, how the brain synthesizes angiotensin (Ang) II has been a debate for decades, largely due to the low renin activity. …”
