In this paper, we analyze the performance of AN-aided secure transmission from the SINR perspective when a legitimate transmitter has and does not have the EV’s CSI. …”

Energy-efficiency priority based beamforming design and optimization in IRS-assisted SWIPT system
Published 2022-01-01“…Intelligent reflecting surface (IRS)-assisted simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) system is set as research background.Joint design and optimization of energy-efficiency priority based active beamforming at multi-antenna transmitter and passive beamforming at IRS were investigated. The optimization objective was to maximize minimum energy-efficiency, which was subject to transmitter power control, energy constraint at energy harvesting (EH) receiver and IRS phase shift constraint.Alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) was implemented to solve this non-linear non-convex optimization problem.Firstly, the fraction objective function was transformed via Dinkelbach’s approach.Singular value decomposition (SVD) andsemi-definite relaxation (SDR) were applied to obtain active beam forming vector at transmitter.Simulation results indicate that, IRS assisted SWIPT could significantly reduce energy threshold at EH receiver. The achievable energy-efficiency of the proposed strategy is 300 KB/J when total circuit power consumption is -15 dBm.Maximum energy-efficiency can be achieved with the maximum numbers of passive reflecting elements and transmitter antennas.…”

Channel capacity analysis of non-line-of-sight ultraviolet communication in noncoplanar geometry based on traversing tiny unit method
Published 2019-05-01“…Channel capacity reflects the ability of the system to transmit information without errors. The path loss and impulse response of the system were calculated based on traversing tiny unit method, and then the frequency response of the system was obtained by the discrete Fourier transform of the impulse response sampling sequence, and the 3 dB bandwidth of the system was calculated.Considering the shot noise caused by signal light, the signal-to-noise ratio of the system was obtained according to the quantum limit method, and then the relationship between the channel capacity and the geometric parameters of transmitter and receiver in non-line-of-sight noncoplanar ultraviolet communication system were simulated and analyzed by Shannon formula. The results show that the channel capacity decreases with the increase of the off axis angle and the communication distance. When the elevation angles of transmitter and receiver are less than 40°,the channel capacity decreases rapidly with the increase of the elevation angles of transmitter and receiver, and the transmitter elevation angle has a great influence on the channel capacity. The system channel capacity is almost constant with the increase of divergence angle, and the larger the receiver field of view angle, the greater the system channel capacity.…”

Hybrid precoding method for mmWave MIMO systems based on limited feedback
Published 2018-08-01“…A hybrid precoding algorithm for millimeter wave (mmWave) MIMO systems without knowledge of channel state information at the transmitter was proposed based on the limited feedback.Specifically, the joint optimization problem of analog precoding and digital precoding was firstly separated into two independent optimization problems, which correspond to the analog precoding and digital precoding respectively.Based on this analog precoding codebook, the best precoding matrix was selected by analog precoding in the designed analog precoding codebook.Secondly, according to the obtained analog precoding matrix, the digital precoding matrix was obtained through the least square method, and then, the codeword closest to it in the random vector quantization codebook was selected as the feedback digital precoding matrix. Finally, the receiver feeds the index values of the analog and digital precoding matrices back to the transmitter.Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve better balance between complexity and performance.…”

Secondary throughput maximization scheme for non-linear energy harvesting cognitive radio networks
Published 2023-02-01“…Aiming at a cognitive radio network (CRN) consisting of a pair of primary users and M pairs of secondary users, the secondary throughput maximization for CRN based on the non-linear energy harvesting model was studied.Specifically, in the case of considering secondary transmitter (ST) circuit power, the secondary throughput maximization (STM) problem with primary users’ throughput demands was first modeled as a non-linear optimization problem and then transformed into a convex optimization problem. Finally, a low-complexity algorithm combining the golden section and dichotomy was proposed.By applying this low-complexity algorithm, the optimal time allocation of the primary transmitter (PT)’s energy transmission and secondary users’ information transmission, and the optimal transmission power of PT were obtained. In addition, for the case of neglecting the ST circuit power, the convex property of the STM problem was first proved, and then a more efficient algorithm was designed to solve it.The simulation results show that compared with the equal time allocation method and the link gain priority method, the proposed design algorithm significantly improves the throughput of secondary users.…”

Pulse detection sensor with green light transceiver integrated optoelectronic chip
Published 2023-06-01“…Photo plethysmo graphy (PPG) is widely used to detect heart rate and pulse activity due to its simple design, low cost, and signal cycle that can effectively reflect the heart rhythm.Owing to the partial overlap between the emission and the detection spectra of GaN multiple quantum well (MQW) diode, the MQW receiver can respond to the light emitted from the transmitter sharing identical MQW structures. Thus, the fabricate and characterize monolithic integration of GaN transmitter and receiver was proposed as a single unit onto a conventional GaN-on-sapphire platform. This not only can effectively reduce the size and cost of the device, but also fully improves the sensitivity of the system. The experimental results show that the gallium nitride integrated optoelectronic chip can effectively receive the reflected light modulated by the heart pulse.Combined with circuit processing, the tester’s heart rate and pulse beat frequency can be calculated according to the restored PPG signal, so as to play the role of detection and warning.…”

Unified ultraviolet communication and sensing:modeling and system optimization
Published 2023-09-01“…Currently, there exist few communication works which combine with sensing. It is necessary to build up a unified communication and sensing signal model and system joint design optimization framework.Based on this, a unified ultraviolet communication and sensing framework was proposed, consisting of a transmitter, a sensing detector and a communication receiver. The transmitter sent modulated signals to the communication receiver for information transmission.Due to the non-line of sight scattering effect, certain components of the transmitted signals reached the unknown target which further reflected to the sensing detector for target detection. Two performance metrics for communication and sensing were considered, including the mutual information between the transmitted symbol and the signal at the communication receiver, and the miss detection probability for the target detector. The relationship between the two metrics and the transmission parameters was further analyzed, including the transmission power for the high-level signal, the transmission power for the low-level signal, and the prior probabilities. The results demonstrate a tradeoff between the communication performance metric and sensing performance metric. It is also shown that the power for the high-level signal should be set to be the peak power, and the power for the low-level signal and the prior probabilities should be optimized, to minimize the miss detection probability given a lower bound on the mutual information.…”
