Long Noncoding RNAs, Chromatin, and Development by Daniel P. Caley, Ryan C. Pink, Daniel Trujillano, David R. F. Carter

    Published 2010-01-01
“…Most genomes studied to date undergo widespread transcription, the majority of which is not translated into proteins. In this review, we will describe recent work suggesting that lncRNAs are more than transcriptional "noise", but instead play a functional role by acting as tethers and guides to bind proteins responsible for modifying chromatin and mediating their deposition at specific genomic locations. …”

Autarky and Material Contingencies in Italian Architectural Debate (1936-1954) by Pep Avilés

    Published 2009-01-01
“…On 3 October 1935, Mussolini’s fascist regime invaded Ethiopia with undesired but foreseeable consequences for its imperialist aims: four days after the conquest, the Society of Nations imposed economic sanctions, promoting an international economic blockade. This soon translated in both a control of foreign currencies in order to purchase iron and steel on the international markets, and a vociferous campaign discouraging the use of materials that were demanded by the military endeavour. …”

Limiting Cash Circulation as a Means to Combat Shadow Economy by G. S. Panova, E. N. Valetdinova

    Published 2014-02-01
“…It is concluded that the limitation of the maximum size of payments in cash can lead to simultaneous reduce the underground economy because revenues derived from the hidden and informal economic activities can be translated in non-cash form. However, in the long run, when adopting legislative restrictions on the payment of funds by individuals on their own bank accounts or, for example, need to prove the lawful origin of money if you make them into a bank account to limit payments in cash will be the first step towards the goal of reducing shadow economy in Russia. …”

MCT1 lactate transporter blockade re-invigorates anti-tumor immunity through metabolic rewiring of dendritic cells in melanoma by Camille Niveau, Mélanie Cettour-Cave, Stéphane Mouret, Eleonora Sosa Cuevas, Mylene Pezet, Benoît Roubinet, Hugo Gil, Florence De Fraipont, Ludovic Landemarre, Julie Charles, Philippe Saas, Caroline Aspord

    Published 2025-01-01

Power consumption modeling and optimization for NB-IoT eDRX by Xin JIAN, Yixiao WEI, Yuqin LIU, Jian SONG, Xiaoping ZENG, Xiaoheng TAN

    Published 2019-04-01
“…To extend the battery life of massive machine type devices (MTD),narrow-band Internet of things (NB-IoT) system extended discontinuous reception (eDRX) mechanism of LTE to the maximum as well as introduced a lower power state named as power saving mode (PSM).Three Markov models were established for three typical NB-IoT traffic scenarios, which called mobile autonomous reporting periodic report (MAR-P),mobile autonomous reporting exception report (MAR-E),software update/reconfiguration (SUR).The states of each Markov model were the working status of MTDs,including connected, idle and PSM state,in which the connected state was divided into random access state and data translating/receiving state to further evaluate the additional power consumption caused by collisions from massive MTDs concurrent access.Thereby, the power consumption and delay models with respect to each traffic scenarios were derived.Since the frequency of MAR-P traffic was far greater than the other two,the battery life of this traffic case with its optimal design choice was comprehensively analyzed.Numerical results show that, the battery life is mostly influenced by transmission period, maximum number of random access attempts, maximum number of data transmissions and traffic load, which can be maximized by appropriate parameters setting up.These works provide good references for NB-IoT device behavior modeling and optimization design.…”
