Post-coronavirus disease 2019 frequent use of disinfectants and sanitizers affect lung tissue: experimental study by Amr Khattab, Shaimaa ElShebiney

    Published 2023-12-01
“…However, existing knowledge about hypochlorite use as a disinfectant is inadequate for the applied experimental conditions are generally not translated to real life. This study explores the effect of the regular use of the commonly recommended disinfectants such as alcohol-based solutions and 0.1% hypochlorite on the lung and liver tissues of rats. …”

Adept Domestic Energy Load Profile Development Using Computational Intelligence-Based Modelling by Olawale Popoola, Agnes Ramokone, Ayokunle Awelewa

    Published 2024-01-01
“…The aptitude to improve on energy prediction and evaluation accuracy, especially in these periods, makes it a highly suited tool for demand-side management, power generation, and distribution planning activity. This will translate into power system reliability, reduce operation cost (lowest cost), and reduce greenhouse emissions (environmental pollution), thereby cumulating into sustainable cities.…”

Modeling Radionuclide Transfer from Pasture to Milk in Kisoro, South- Western Uganda by Habakwiha V, Oruru B, Tumps Ireeta W

    Published 2023
“…Comparing with the safe values of annual effective dose equivalent in foodstuffs of 0.14 mSv y l-1 which translates to excess cancer risk of 0.42 10-3, these contributions to radiological effects only account for about 1.5% of the total safe value of excess lifetime cancer risk, therefore, radionuclide transfer from pasture to milk causes a minimal radiation hazard to the milk consumers in Kisoro District.…”

Does energy-consuming right trading policy achieve a low-carbon transition of the energy structure? A quasi-natural experiment from China by Ye Chen, Bin Zhong, Bingnan Guo

    Published 2025-01-01
“…The transmission mechanism of industrial structure upgrading and the new-quality productive forces in the impact process was discussed, and the regulatory role of environmental regulations was tested.ResultsThe findings indicate: 1) ECRT has a strong driving effect on the low-carbon transition of the energy structure. 2) ECRT can promote low-carbon transition of the energy structure through the dual channel of promoting industrial structure upgrading and new quality productive forces. 3) The influence of ECRT on the low-carbon transition of the energy structure is different in different regions, and the higher degree of industrial agglomeration and renewable energy-rich regions are more significantly promoted by new quality productivity. 4) Environmental regulation has a significant positive moderating effect on the relationship between ECRT and low-carbon transition of the energy structure. 5) Furthermore, the exploratory analysis reveals that the positive impacts of ECRT policies on the low-carbon Transition of the energy structure translates into higher green total factor productivity and lower environmental pollution, which promotes the sustainable development of the low-carbon Transition of the energy structure.DiscussionThis paper responds to the basic question of whether energy use rights policies can promote the low-carbon Transition of the energy structure, and provides empirical evidence and policy reference not only for the development of China’s environmental policy and the direction of energy consumption but also for the international community’s efforts in sustainable energy and environmental governance.…”
