Transcription factor DREF regulates expression of the microRNA gene bantam in Drosophila melanogaster
Published 2024-04-01“…In this study, we found that the bantam regulatory region contains motifs characteristic of binding sites for DREF, a transcription factor that regulates the expression of Hippo cascade genes. Using transgenic lines containing a fulllength bantam lethality-rescuing deletion fragment and a fragment with a disrupted DREF binding site, we show that these motifs are functionally significant because their disruption at the bantam locus reduces expression levels in the larvae and ovaries of homozygous flies, which correlates with reduced vitality and fertility. …”

Neuroprotective effects of curculigoside against Alzheimer’s disease via regulation oxidative stress mediated mitochondrial dysfunction in L-Glu-exposed HT22 cells and APP/PS1 mice...
Published 2023-07-01“…In this study, the neuroprotective effect of CCG through oxidative stress mediated mitochondrial dysfunction on L-glutamate (L-Glu)-damaged hippocampal neuron cell line (HT22) and APPswe/PSEN1dE9 transgenic (APP/PS1) mice were investigated. Observably, CCG in L-Glu-damaged HT22 cells suppressed apoptosis, reduced the accumulation of reactive oxygen species, balanced the mitochondrial membrane potential and prevented the over-influx of calcium. …”

Differential bone and vessel type formation at superior and dura periosteum during cranial bone defect repair
Published 2025-01-01“…While the distinct embryonic origins of the superior and dura periosteum of the cranial parietal bone have been described, the extent of their respective contributions to bone and vessel formation during adult bone defect repair remains superficially explored. Utilizing transgenic mouse models in conjunction with high-resolution multiphoton laser scanning microscopy (MPLSM), we have separately evaluated bone and vessel formation in the superior and dura periosteum before and after injury, as well as following intermittent treatment of recombinant peptide of human parathyroid hormone (rhPTH), Teriparatide. …”
