Movement Characteristics of Typhoon Rainstorm-Triggered Debris Flow in Qinglong Gully Based on Massflow Model
Published 2023-01-01“…Typhoon Lekima made landfall on August 10,2019,causing a massive typhoon rainstorm-triggered debris flow in Qinglong Gully located in the middle and low mountainous area of southern Anhui. To deeply explore the movement characteristics of the typhoon rainstorm-triggered debris flow, this study identifies the characteristics, formation conditions, and source distribution of Qinglong Gully. On this basis,it builds a high-precision three-dimensional model of the study area to calculate two working conditions of the non-typhoon rainstorm and typhoon rainstorm. In addition,Massflow, the software for surface-process dynamic numerical analysis,is employed for numerical simulation and comparative analysis of debris-flow movement characteristics. The results show that the typhoon rainstorm-triggered debris flow has a faster forward speed compared with the non-typhoon rainstorm-triggered debris flow.It moves to the monitoring points j1—j5 at 600 s,100 s,1500 s,1 600 s,and 1 900 s,respectively, and the front can cause damage to the channels and buildings along the way in a short time.Three main accumulation areas are formed in the outbreak of the debris flow. The maximum accumulation thickness of the typhoon rainstorm-triggered debris flow is 3.08 m,3.80 m,and 7.75 m,and the accumulation area is 36 324.4 m2,3 700.4 m2,and 32 279.5 m2,respectively.The debris flow has the characteristics of a large height and plane range of influence, which is more likely to cause serious life and property damage to engineering buildings and residents.…”
