An Investigation of the Feasibility of Feedstock to Support the UK’s Sustainable Aviation Fuel Goals
Published 2025-01-01“…While a variety of technologies have been proposed with this goal in mind, due to the slow-moving nature of the industry, the most feasible of these is the increased use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) that requires little to no change to existing aircraft systems, procedures, as well as ground facilities. …”

Relevance as process: judgements in the context of scholarly research
Published 2005-01-01“…</b> Relevance judgements appear to be drivers of the search and research processes informants moved through during the observations. Focusing on research goals rather than on retrieval tasks brings us to a fuller understanding of the relationship between ultimate research goals and the articulation of those goals in interactions with information systems. …”

From Prediction to Precision: Explainable AI-Driven Insights for Targeted Treatment in Equine Colic
Published 2025-01-01“…These tailored predictions empower veterinarians to prioritize interventions based on the specific conditions of each horse, moving beyond generalized care protocols. By combining predictive accuracy with interpretability, this study advances precision veterinary medicine, enhancing outcomes for equine colic cases and setting a benchmark for future applications of AI in animal health.…”

Improving the accuracy of the information retrieval evaluation process by considering unjudged document lists from the relevant judgment sets
Published 2024-09-01“…Documents that were relevant and not retrieved by the systems were found from the document corpus and assigned new scores based on the Manifold fusion techniques then moved into the relevant judgment sets. Documents based on judgment sets and good contributing systems have been considered in the proposed methodologies. …”

Design of a Printed Dipole Antenna Array for a Passive Radar System
Published 2013-01-01“…Part of the transmitted signal is reflected by radar targets, for example, moving objects such as vehicles or aircraft. Typical radar parameters are derived from the comparison between the direct line-of-sight from the transmitter and the signal scattered from the target object. …”

A Comparative Numerical Study on the Performances and Vortical Patterns of Two Bioinspired Oscillatory Mechanisms: Undulating and Pure Heaving
Published 2015-01-01“…Navier-Stokes equations are solved, by a pressure-based finite volume method solver, in an arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) framework domain containing a 2D NACA0012 foil moving with prescribed kinematics. Some of the important findings are (1) the thrust production of the heaving foil begins at lower St and has a greater growing slope with respect to the St; (2) the undulating mechanism has some limitations to produce high thrust forces; (3) the undulating foil shows a lower power consumption and higher efficiency; (4) changing the Reynolds number (Re) in a constant St affects the performance of the oscillations; and (5) there is a distinguishable appearance of leading edge vortices in the wake of the heaving foil without observable ones in the wake of the undulating foil, especially at higher St.…”
