Evidence of Maintenance Tagging in the Hippocampus for the Persistence of Long-Lasting Memory Storage by Micol Tomaiuolo, Cynthia Katche, Haydee Viola, Jorge H. Medina

    Published 2015-01-01
“…The proposed maintenance tagging has several characteristics: (1) the tag is transient and time-dependent; (2) it sets in a late critical time window after an aversive training which induces a short-lasting LTM; (3) exposing rats to a novel environment specifically within this tag time window enables the consolidation to a long-lasting LTM; (4) a familiar environment exploration was not effective; (5) the effect of novelty on the promotion of memory persistence requires dopamine D1/D5 receptors and Arc expression in the dorsal hippocampus. The present results can be explained by a broader version of the behavioral tagging hypothesis and highlight the idea that the durability of a memory trace depends either on late tag mechanisms induced by a training session or on events experienced close in time to this tag.…”

Evidence of Tectonic Control on the Geochemical Features of the Volatiles Vented along the Nebrodi-Peloritani Mts (Southern Apennine Chain, Italy) by Francesco Italiano, Pietro Bonfanti, Salvatore Roberto Maugeri

    Published 2019-01-01
“…The degassing of mantle helium is coherent with the tectonics and related to the NW-SE extensional regime of the Calabro-Peloritan Arc (CPA). We propose that the degassing regime as well as the geochemical features of both the dissolved and bubbling gases is closely connected to the strain accumulation rate, inducing almost no temporal changes and insignificant deep-originated fluid contributions to the locked fault volumes. …”

Analysis of Land Use Migration Change in Ganjiang River Basin by HE Hao, LIU Weilin, LI Xiang, ZHANG Jingrong, YANG Qing, TU Xuke, LIU Jianwu, LIU Lina

    Published 2023-01-01
“…Land use/cover change is an important representation of interactions between humans and the natural environment, and its change characteristics profoundly influence regional ecological security and sustainable socio-economic development.Based on the land use data of the Ganjiang River Basin from 1980 to 2018,the spatio-temporal changes in land use in this basin are analyzed by ArcGIS spatial analysis method. The results show that forest land and cultivated land are the main land types in Ganjiang River Basin. The areas of the two land types decrease, with constantly increasing construction land area. The comprehensive dynamic index of land use in the basin is increasing, which indicates accelerating land use changes. The types of land use conversion are mainly the transfer from cultivated land and forest land to construction land, the mutual transfer of forest land and grassland, and the transfer from forest land to cultivated land, with some cultivated land transferred to waters. The centers of gravity of grassland, waters, and construction land change significantly, and are moving northwest, southwest, and southeast respectively with phased moving speeds. The research results can provide scientific references for ecological environment protection, and planning and management of water and land resources in the Ganjiang River Basin.…”
