Experimental Progress towards Probing the Ground State of an Electron-Hole Bilayer by Low-Temperature Transport by K. Das Gupta, A. F. Croxall, J. Waldie, C. A. Nicoll, H. E. Beere, I. Farrer, D. A. Ritchie, M. Pepper

    Published 2011-01-01
“…Experiments have revealed that the Coulomb drag on the hole layer shows strong nonmonotonic deviations from a ∼𝑇2 behaviour expected for Fermi-liquids at low temperatures. Simultaneously, an unexpected insulating behaviour in the single-layer resistances (at a highly “metallic” regime with 𝑘𝐹𝑙>500) also appears in both layers despite electron mobilities of above ∼106cm2V−1s−1 and hole mobilities over ∼105cm2V−1s−1. …”

Temperature Field Analysis of Laser Hardening of 18CrNi8 Gear based on ANSYS by Hui Yinglong, Wang Yuling, Yao Cuicui

    Published 2015-01-01
“…An ANSYS finite element analysis of temperature field is carried out aiming at laser quenching process of a large modulus gear used in the overloading car, which involve the establishment of 3D model, load method, command flow of moving heat source, longitudinal section temperature distribution, determination of the hardening layer depth.According to ANSYS Post-processing methods, the case of heat flow in the processing, the temperature variation of typical nodes along the scanning line of the heat source and the depth direction as well as the cause and the solution of the widely different temperature between the surface before and after the laser speckle(which is caused momentarily "heat flux accumulation effect")are analyzed. The analysis results show that laser quenching on the gear tooth surface can achieve good effect, which is validated by the experiment.…”

The effect of temperature factor during heavy ion irradiation on structural disordering of SiC ceramics by Kymbat M. Tynyshbayeva, Artem L. Kozlovskiy

    Published 2025-02-01
“…The observed alterations in the spectral modes E1(TO), E2(TO) and A1(LO) depending on the irradiation temperature indicate an anisotropic distortion of the structure, which has a clearly expressed dependence on the irradiation temperature, as well as the type of ions used for irradiation. …”

The Arctic and Antarctic Sea-Ice Area Index Records versus Measured and Modeled Temperature Data by Nicola Scafetta, Adriano Mazzarella

    Published 2015-01-01
“…This result is quite robust because it is confirmed by alternative temperature climate indices of the same regions. We also found that a significant 4-5-year natural oscillation characterizes the climate of these sea-ice polar areas. …”

Dynamic Mechanical Response of Biomedical 316L Stainless Steel as Function of Strain Rate and Temperature by Woei-Shyan Lee, Tao-Hsing Chen, Chi-Feng Lin, Wen-Zhen Luo

    Published 2011-01-01
“…A split Hopkinson pressure bar is used to investigate the dynamic mechanical properties of biomedical 316L stainless steel under strain rates ranging from 1 × 103 s-1 to 5 × 103 s-1 and temperatures between 25∘C and 800∘C. The results indicate that the flow stress, work-hardening rate, strain rate sensitivity, and thermal activation energy are all significantly dependent on the strain, strain rate, and temperature. …”
