Demise of Kreutz Sungrazing Comet C/2024 S1 (ATLAS)
Published 2025-01-01“…Kreutz sungrazer C/2024 S1 (ATLAS) was discovered a month before reaching its perihelion distance of 0.008 au, allowing physical observations from both ground- and space-based telescopes. We present observations from 0.9 to 0.4 au using the Nordic Optical Telescope showing that (1) nucleus disintegration was ongoing already at 0.7 au pre-perihelion, (2) the activity varied unpredictably with distance, and (3) the nucleus radius was <600 m (red geometric albedo 0.04 assumed). …”

Are Wolf-Rayet Stars Able to Pollute the Interstellar Medium of Galaxies? Results from Integral Field Spectroscopy
Published 2013-01-01“…We used the integral field spectroscopy technique in the optical spectral range (3700 Å–6850 Å) with PMAS attached to the CAHA 3.5 m telescope. Our statistical analysis of the spatial distributions of O/H and N/O, as derived using the direct method or strong-line parameters consistent with it, indicates that metallicity is homogeneous in five out of the six analysed objects in scales of the order of several kpc. …”

Star Formation Law at Sub-kpc Scale in the Elliptical Galaxy Centaurus A as Seen by ALMA
Published 2017-01-01“…We present an extensive analysis of the relationship between star formation rate surface density (∑SFR) and molecular gas surface density (∑H2) at sub-kpc scale in the elliptical galaxy Centaurus A (also known as NGC 5128) at the distance 3.8 Mpc. 12CO (J = 2-1) data from Atacama Large Millimetre/Sub-Millimetre Array SV data with very high resolution (2.9′′, 0.84′′), as well as 24 μm data from the Spitzer Space Telescope, were used. This is one of the first studies of the SF law on Centaurus A at this very high spatial resolution. …”

Beam Tilt Aberration Detection of the Seven-Unit Phased Fiber Laser Array
Published 2024-12-01“…A co-aperture optics system was adapted to detect the tilt aberrations of a seven-element phased fiber laser array system simultaneously. A Kepler telescope was designed to construct the conjugate relation between the exit pupil of a fiber optic laser array system and a microlens array and also to match the size of the seven beams and the microlens array. …”

Mask-Pix2Pix Network for Overexposure Region Recovery of Solar Image
Published 2019-01-01“…Overexposure may happen for imaging of solar observation as extremely violet solar bursts occur, which means that signal intensity goes beyond the dynamic range of imaging system of a telescope, resulting in loss of signal. For example, during solar flare, Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) of Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) often records overexposed images/videos, resulting loss of fine structures of solar flare. …”
