Temporal and spatial heterogeneity of the Ailaoshan–Song Ma–Song Chay ophiolitic mélange, and its significance on the evolution of Paleo-Tethys by Lin, Wei, Liu, Fei, Wang, Yin, Meng, Lingtong, Faure, Michel, Chu, Yang, Nguyen, Vuong Van, Wu, Qinying, Wei, Wei, Thu, Hoai Luong Thi, Vu, Tich Van

    Published 2024-04-01
“…The strike-perpendicular heterogeneity characterises the geometry of M1, M2, and M3 units and is attributed to a Cenozoic positive-flower structure of the Red River Fault showing sinistral strike-slip tectonic event with SW-ward thrusting. These temporal and spatial heterogeneities correspond well to the different evolutionary stages of the eastern Paleo-Tethys.…”

Experimental Study of Mechanical Characteristics of Tunnel Support System in Hard Cataclastic Rock with High Geostress by Minglei Sun, Yongquan Zhu, Xinzhi Li, Zhengguo Zhu, Benguo He

    Published 2020-01-01
“…The results showed that (1) under the condition of high geostress and hard cataclastic surrounding rock, the initial support deformation is large, the horizontal convergence is much larger than the settlement of arch, and the deformation duration is relatively short; (2) the distribution of pressure and stress in initial support are very uneven on the cross-section and greatly affected by the construction process; (3) in the case of large horizontal tectonic stress, the use of large curvature side wall support is beneficial to improve the quality of support and control the deformation of the structure, especially to improve the stress of concrete; (4) the closure time of the supporting system greatly influences the stress state and deformation, so it is necessary to shorten the length of the lower bench and the distance of the invert as possible so as to close the support as early as possible; (5) different location of the tunnel surrounding rock stress distribution is very uneven, the measured value is much larger than calculated value in level III based on the specification of surrounding rock; (6) under high strength and ground stress, the initial supporting stress of steel frame increases rapidly, and the measured stress is larger. …”

The contrasting origins of glauconite in the shallow marine environment highlight this mineral as a marker of paleoenvironmental conditions by Tribovillard, Nicolas, Bout-Roumazeilles, Viviane, Abraham, Romain, Ventalon, Sandra, Delattre, Marion, Baudin, François

    Published 2022-12-01
“…The only identified Jurassic facies of the Boulonnais where glauconite is both relatively abundant, large in size and unsorted (non reworked) are oyster reefs that formed at the outlet of cold seeps linked to a late-Jurassic synsedimentary tectonic (Kimmeridgian, Tithonian). Our work makes it possible to hypothesize that isolated oyster reefs were environments combining the redox conditions and in contact with seawater favoring the authigenic formation of glauconite. …”

    Published 2020-01-01
“…The results of on-site monitoring indicate that the mining effect of the working face is greater than that of the tectonic stress. With the advance of the working face, the deformation of the shallow area (0–8 m) first increases gradually, then increases rapidly, and finally increases gradually again; the middle area (8–19 m) experiences three stages, from a gentle increase to temporary stability and then a rapid increase; the deep area (19–29 m) undergoes three stages, from being stable to increasing and then being stable again. …”

    Published 2022-01-01
“…The 18O and δD values of groundwater in HLFZ indicated that meteoric water contributed dominantly to the groundwater and it was influenced by the water cycle and water-rock reaction. Furthermore, tectonic movement, seismicity, and the level of deformation along different segments of HLFZ are important factors in the migration of deep to shallow groundwater, and water-rock reactions during groundwater migration, which results in differences in chemical composition of the groundwater between Group 1 and Group 2. …”
