Vibration Behavior and Reinforcement Effect Analysis of the Slab Track-Subgrade with Mud Pumping under Cyclic Dynamic Loading: Full-Scale Model Tests by Junjie Huang, Qian Su, Wei Wang, Xun Wang, Huiqin Guo

    Published 2018-01-01
“…Moreover, a large volume of slurry composed of water and fine particles is squeezed out of the subgrade bed after the model is subjected to the second cyclic loading stage of 2.0 × 106 cycles, causing contact loss between the concrete base and the subgrade bed, which makes the acceleration and displacement of the concrete base increase abnormally compared with the model in normal condition, as well as the cumulative settlement of the subgrade bed. …”

    Published 2023-10-01
“…Its solution, already fraught with a whole complex of objective economic, political and other difficulties, is further complicated by the existing practice of imposing unilateral and multilateral or international sanctions, which have become one of the key instruments of the leading subjects of world politics. And although formally sanctions regimes are provided with humanitarian exceptions designed to minimize their negative consequences for the population of target countries, their imposition inevitably results in new obstacles to the provision of humanitarian assistance to those in need. …”

Feedback regulation in multistage cell lineages by Wing-Cheong Lo, Ching-Shan Chou, Kimberly K. Gokoffski, Frederic Y.-M. Wan, Arthur D. Lander, Anne L. Calof, Qing Nie

    Published 2008-11-01
“…Together, the existence of multiple cellstages within a lineage and complex feedback regulation are thought to conferupon a tissue the ability to autoregulate development and regeneration,in terms of both cell number (total tissue volume) and cell identity(the proportions of different cell types, especially TD cells, within the tissue). In this paper, we model neurogenesis in the olfactory epithelium (OE) of the mouse,a system in which the lineage stages and mediators of feedback regulation that governthe generation of terminally differentiated olfactory receptor neurons (ORNs) have beenthe subject of much experimental work. Here we report on the existence and uniquenessof steady states in this system, as well as local and global stability of these steady states. In particular, we identify parameter conditions for the stability of the system when negativefeedback loops are represented either as Hill functions, or in more general terms. Our results suggest that two factors -- autoregulation of the proliferation oftransit amplifying (TA) progenitor cells, and a low death rate of TD cells -- enhance the stability of this system.…”
