Distorting crack-front geometry for enhanced toughness by manipulating bioinspired heterogeneity
Published 2025-01-01“…We reveal theoretically and demonstrate experimentally that the local mixed-mode I + II + III fracture triggered by local anisotropic heterogeneities lead to a helical crack front in a representative heterogeneous system with bioinspired twisted plywood structures under remote mode I loading. An anomalous nonlinear law of both the enhanced fracture resistance and the helical crack-front length versus the microstructural orientation is revealed, in contrast to the linear toughening law ignoring the hidden 3D topography within crack fronts. …”

Characterization of a Novel Male Pheromone Compound in Leucoptera sinuella (Lepidoptera: Lyonetiidae) and Its Role in Courtship Behavior
Published 2024-12-01“…This study investigated the presence of a male-produced sex pheromone in L. sinuella, focusing on the hairpencil (HP) glands, which are known as dissemination structures for male pheromones in lepidopterans. Male HP glands were solvent-extracted and analyzed by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. …”

Effects of sturgeon oil and reheating methods on the qualities of sturgeon surimi gels
Published 2024-12-01“…Boiling and steaming made gels higher brightness value (L*) (82.07–84.16), with lower cooking loss (7.11%–8.83%), relatively intact protein network structures and strong protein digestibility. The greatest lipid oxidation of the sturgeon surimi gels was induced by frying, followed by microwave. …”

Topology Optimization of the Network with Renewable Energy Sources Generation Based on a Modified Adapted Genetic Algorithm
Published 2022-08-01“…The verification was carried out in comparison with the results obtained by a complete search of possible radial configurations of the system, and it showed that the developed genetic algorithm had fast convergence, high accuracy and was able to work correctly with different configurations of electrical circuits, generation and load structures. The algorithm can be used in conjunction with renewable energy sources generation forecasting systems for the day ahead when planning the operating modes of power units in order to minimize the costs of covering electricity losses and improve the quality of electricity supplied.…”

A warpage-free Si3N4 slurry strategy for vat photopolymerization
Published 2025-01-01“…Vat photopolymerization (VPP) three-dimensional (3D) printing provides a strategy for preparing ceramics with controllable complex structures. However, the difficulty in solidifying the slurry due to partial ultraviolet (UV) light absorption and the high refractive index of Si3N4 particles during the VPP process severely hinder the molding of Si3N4 ceramics. …”
