Geopolitical competition of great powers in the Arctic by E. S. Karsanova

    Published 2024-09-01
“…To examine these factors, thе article uses a typical neorealist view of international relations, arguing that the driving force behind the rapid growth of the Arctic race is not the region itself, but the transforming structure of the international relations, which tends to effectively reproduce the causes of global competition. …”

Strasbourg : la frontière à l’œuvre dans la construction du projet urbain des Deux-Rives by Éric Chenderowsky

    Published 2019-02-01
“…These projects are the key stages in the city’s progressive opening toward the river: the international Strasbourg-Kehl competition in 1990 defined the project area and gave the foundations for transnational cooperation with a territorial perspective; in 2004, the Landesgartenschau (garden festival) was the pretext for Marc Mimram’s footbridge which joins the two banks of the river; since 2008, Strasbourg’s town centre is turning towards the East, on account of the transformation of the Malraux Presqu’île, an old harbour zone dating from the 1880s; in 2017, the tramway was extended towards Kehl, structuring a new part of the city in the port area and on the Rhine.…”

Identity and agency in South Africa by Leyla Tavernaro-Haidarian

    Published 2022-10-01
“…In this article I show how the African moral theory of ubuntu can help us achieve this by contributing to understandings of identity and agency that work in concert with systems and structures and towards shared ends. Hence, while theorists largely focus on the potential of identity to confront wanting social realities and to create freedom from constraint, I suggest that through ubuntu, identity can be reimagined as mutualistic and symbiotic with social organisation – enabling, as a result, more equity and justice. …”

Traveling Wave Vibration and Experimental Analysis of the Diaphragm Disc Sun-gear Shaft of High-speed Planetary Gearbox by Wang Xiaopeng, Liu Shijun

    Published 2020-04-01
“…The simulation model of the diaphragm disc sun-gear shaft of high-speed planetary gearbox is established.Based on the design principle of the floating structure of sun-gear shaft in planetary gearbox, three conditions including free-free,simple support-axial and simple support-fixed support are drawn up.The natural frequency and traveling wave vibration of sun-gear shaft were investigated, and the corresponding diagrams of mode of vibration and Campbell figure are drawn later.A gearbox test bench is built for experimental analysis. The result shows that when the main mode of sun-gear shaft with deformation of gear teeth resonates with one-fold frequency, the excitation force has largest amplitude, the two and three times followed. The vibration forms of teeth are torsional vibration, traveling wave vibration and bending vibration.A wide range of resonance points is produced between diaphragm or barrel shaft and multiple frequency of shaft. The resonance response is smaller by the greater multiple frequency of shaft. The experimental shows that during the process of increasing the speed from zero to working speed, the vibration value fluctuates significantly and then decreases to stable quickly, which indicates that the vibration of system is not expanded by exciting force and the influence on system stability is smaller. The geometric design of sun-gear shaft has a certain rationality and applicability.…”

Decoupling Relationship Between Water Resources Utilization and Economic Development in Henan Province Based on Water Footprint-Extended LMDI Model by LU Qiuyu

    Published 2021-01-01
“…Aiming at the related problems of water resources constraining economic development in Henan Province, this paper constructs the water footprint-extended LMDI model, decomposes the decoupling driving factors into four decoupling factors, and studies the decoupling relationship between water resources utilization and economic development in Henan Province from 2004 to 2018.The results show that:In terms of the possession and self-sufficiency rate of total per capital water footprint, the overall water shortage in Henan Province has been alleviated, but it is still in a state of shortage; In terms of decoupling state, the overall decoupling of Henan Province is in a good statel, the decoupling state of agricultural water is relatively stable, and the hydrological year has an impact on the agricultural virtual water consumption and decoupling state; In terms of decoupling factor decomposition, the technological decoupling factor contributes to the decoupling in Henan Province, the industrial structure and scale economy are the main promoting and inhibiting factors of decoupling, respectively, and the change of population driving factor has no obvious inhibiting effect on decoupling in Henan Province. Therefore,it is necessary to improve the utilization efficiency of water resources, the repetition rate of industrial water use,and improve the agricultural irrigation water-saving technology in Henan Province.…”
