AXIAL TENSILE STRENGTH ANALYSIS OF UNBONDED FLEXIBLE PIPE CONTAINING COMPOSITE TENSILE ARMORS by MA JinSheng, DU FaXi, LUO Dan

    Published 2020-01-01
“…As offshore oil industry moves into ultra-deep water, replacing the steel tensile armors of unbonded flexible pipe with composite is becoming a scheme that can effectively reduce weight and provide better mechanical properties. The anisotropic parameters of composite are obtained by meso-mechanical method, then a model of axisymmetric structure response for composite flexible pipe with composite armored layer is established, which is based on both thick-wall cylinder theory and the differential equation of curved beam, and also the algorithm of cyclic iterative is combined.Failure models of different type of flexible pipes are obtained, and iso-strength method is used for composite armored pipe.A case study shows that composite armors can effectively enhance the tensile strength of unbonded flexible pipe while effectively reduce the overall weight. Results state that volume fraction, elastic modulus and strength of fiber are the important parameters which affect the axial stiffness and tensile strength of unbonded flexible pipe.…”

STUDY ON CRITICAL CTOD OF BIG-THICKNESS AND HIGH-STRENGTH STEELS by XIA ZiYu, MIAO ZhangMu, MA Tao, CHEN Gang, PENG Sheng

    Published 2015-01-01
“…As one of the essential criteria of assessment to welding toughness,CTOD( Crack tip opening displacement) is widely applied in engineering. The research on critical CTOD of big thickness and high strength steels has been a hot issue, therefore the theoretical research in China lags behind its overseas. The present paper takes the single edge fatigue precrack of CTOD specimen as a flaw based on the technical route of the British Standard 7910-2005,which is "Guide to methods for assessing the acceptability of flaws in metallic structures".In the meanwhile, make the grading assessments of the HAZ of the60 mm thick EQ70 steel welded joints, combining the results of the CTOD tests. The CGHAZ microstructures of EQ70 steel welded joints has been analyzed by SEM.The assessments on welded joints of EQ70 show that the CTOD values are in the acceptable range. And there are some fine microstructures good for the toughness of the welded joint. This method provides a useful guidance in researches of critical CTOD.…”

Multi-scale aware dual path network for face detection in resource-constrained edge computing environment by Qi QI, Yingxin MA, Jingyu WANG, Haifeng SUN, Jianxin LIAO

    Published 2020-08-01
“…Aiming at the problem that face detectors with complex deep neural structures are difficult to deploy in the resource-constrained edge computing environment,to reduce the resource consumption while maintain the accuracy in complex scenes such as multi-scale face changes, occlusion, blur, and illumination,SDPN(multi-scale aware dual path network) for face detection was proposed. The Face-ResNet (face residual neural network) was improved, and a dual path shallow feature extractor was used to understand the multi-scale information of the image through parallel branches. Then the deep and shallow feature fusion module,a combination of the underlying image information and the high-level semantic feature, was used in conjunction with the multi-scale awareness training strategy to supervise the multi-branch learning discriminating features. The experimental results show that SDPN can extract more diversified features, which effectively improve the accuracy and robustness of face detection while maintaining the efficiency of the model and low inference delay.…”
