Resnet-1DCNN-REA bearing fault diagnosis method based on multi-source and multi-modal information fusion
Published 2024-11-01“…At the same time, the time-frequency statistical features of the fused 1D signal were extracted from the integrated perspective of time and frequency domains and inputted into the improved 1D convolutional neural network model based on the residual block and attention mechanism (1DCNN-REA) model to realize fault diagnosis. Finally, the tree-structured parzen estimator (TPE) algorithm was utilized to realize the integration of two models in order to improve the diagnostic effect of a single model and obtain the final bearing fault diagnosis results. …”

Life in the Bubble: How a Nearby Supernova Left Ephemeral Footprints on the Cosmic-Ray Spectrum and Indelible Imprints on Life
Published 2025-01-01“…The Earth sits inside a 300 pc-wide void that was carved by a series of supernova explosions that went off tens of millions of years ago, pushing away interstellar gas and creating a bubble-like structure. The ^60 Fe peak deposits found in the deep-sea crust have been interpreted by the imprints left by the ejecta of supernova explosions occurring about 2–3 and 5–6 Myr ago. …”

Observational Study on the Characteristics of the Boundary Layer during Changes in the Intensity of Tropical Cyclones Landing in Guangdong, China
Published 2019-01-01“…Eleven tropical cyclones that landed in Guangdong Province since 2012 and experienced strengthening or weakening over the offshore area were studied. Since the structure of the tropical cyclone boundary layer significantly influences the variation of the intensity of the cyclone, continuous observations of the wind profile radar at a coastal radar station in Guangdong Province were combined with aircraft observation data of the No. 1604 “Nida” cyclone to analyse the variations in the distributions of the radial wind, tangential wind, and angular momentum in the typhoon boundary layer and the similarities and differences between the boundary layers of the 11 tropical cyclones during the strengthening or weakening of their intensities. …”

Experiences of community-dwelling older adults living with multiple chronic conditions: a qualitative study
Published 2019-03-01“…Objectives The aim of the study was to understand the experiences of living with multiple chronic conditions (MCC) from the perspective of community-living older adults with MCC.Design A qualitative study using an interpretive description approach.Setting Participants were recruited from southern Ontario, Canada.Participants 21 community-living, older adults (≥65 years) with an average of 7.4 chronic conditions including one of diabetes, dementia or stroke. Methods Data were collected through digitally-recorded, in-depth, semi-structured in-person interviews. Interview transcripts were analysed and coded using Thorne’s interpretive description approach. Results Five themes were identified representing older adults' experiences of living with MCC: (a) trying to stay healthy while living with MCC, (b) depending on family caregivers for support with just about everything, (c) paying the high costs of living with MCC, (d) making healthcare decisions by proxy and (e) receiving healthcare services that do not address the complex needs of persons living with MCC.Conclusions The experience of living with MCC in the community was complex and multi-faceted. …”

Hypoxia-induced CTCF mediates alternative splicing via coupling chromatin looping and RNA Pol II pause to promote EMT in breast cancer
Published 2025-02-01“…Summary: Hypoxia influences the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) through the remodeling of the chromatin structure, epigenetics, and alternative splicing. Hypoxia drives CCCTC-binding factor (CTCF) induction through hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha (HIF1α), which promotes EMT, although the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. …”
