Evaluation of circadian rhythm and prognostic variability pre-and post-CEA or CAS treatment in patients with carotid artery stenosis by Yi Quan, Zhongzhu Wang, Tao Zhang, Yanyong Sui, Xin Zhang, Xueliang Ji, Ao-fei Liu, Weijian Jiang

    Published 2025-01-01
“…However, the effect of these treatments on circadian rhythms, and their influence on stroke recovery, remains underexplored. This study aims to assess how disruptions in circadian rhythms—specifically sleep quality and blood pressure variability—impact recovery in patients undergoing CEA or CAS.MethodsWe conducted a prospective study involving 177 patients with carotid artery stenosis, all treated with either CEA or CAS. …”

Association of Self-management and Social Support among Stroke Patients by Fengguang GUAN, Mei WANG, Xiaoqin LIAN

    Published 2018-10-01
“…Objective:To explore the influence of social support level on self-management behavior of convalescent patients with stroke, so as to provide an effective method to construct the self-management model for recovery stage stroke patients. Methods:The research investigated 440 hospitalized patients in stroke recovery stage effectively by employing social support rating scale and self-management behavior rating scale. Results:The total score of social support was (40.27±7.50), self-management behavior score was (151.95±23.58), and three dimensions of objective support, subjective support and the utilization of support all had positive correlation with the self-management behavior of the patients. Conclusion:The self-management behavior of stroke patients and the level of social support are related in the recovery stage.…”

A Propulsion Neuroprosthesis Improves Overground Walking in Community-Dwelling Individuals After Stroke by Dabin K. Choe, Ashlyn J. Aiello, Johanna E. Spangler, Conor J. Walsh, Louis N. Awad

    Published 2024-01-01
“…Here we show that an overground propulsion neuroprosthesis can improve overground walking speed and propulsion symmetry in the chronic phase of stroke recovery. Future studies should include a control group to examine the efficacy of gait training augmented by the propulsion neuroprosthesis compared to gait training alone.…”
