Associations between Children’s Exposure to PM2.5 and their Serum Inflammatory Responses in Taiwan
Published 2022-11-01“…Children’s serum TNF-α was significantly linked to PM2.5 exposure scenarios (p = 0.031) by the test of the multivariate analysis (adjusted R2 = 0.033, p = 0.039), but the other variables of age (p = 0.147) and gender (p = 0.291) were not statistically significant. In conclusion, serum TNF-α might be positively and significantly correlated with the longitudinal exposure of schoolchildren to PM2.5, especially among children living in TRAP-PM2.5 region.…”

Plasma EphA2 level is a superior biomarker to Del-1 for sepsis diagnosis and prognosis
Published 2025-01-01“…The levels of both biomarkers were higher in 28-day non-survivors than in survivors, in patients with sepsis (EphA2:898.09 vs. 475.88 pg/mL, p < 0.001; Del-1:46.09 vs. 32.68 pg/mL, p = 0.193); however, only EphA2 was statistically significant. The area under the curve for the EphA2 was 0.74 in the receiver operating characteristic curve analysis for predicting 28-day mortality, whereas APACHE II, SOFA, and Del-1 showed values of 0.762, 0.614, and 0.595, respectively. …”

Sex Differences in Computed Tomography Coronary Stenosis Severity Versus Flow Impairment and Impact on Revascularization, Clinical Events and Health Care Costs: A FORECAST Substudy
Published 2025-02-01“…In multivariable Cox analysis the presence of significant coronary artery disease (hazard ratio [HR], 2.91; 95% CI, 1.30–6.51) and having a positive fractional flow reserve derived from computed tomography (HR, 4.11; 95% CI, 1.15–14.69) were independent predictors of major adverse cardiovascular events at 9 months, whereas sex was not statistically significant (p=0.13). Conclusions There are significant sex differences in the anatomico‐functional assessment of coronary artery disease leading to differences in clinical management, costs, and adverse events.…”

Quality of Life and Related Factors in Discharged Patients with COVID-19
Published 2021-04-01“…The correlation between the quality of life of patients and anxiety, depression and dyspnea and the related factors were analyzed. Results:A total of 57 questionnaires were distributed, and three duplicate and invalid questionnaires were eliminated, 54 valid questionnaires were obtained, with an effective questionnaire of 94.74%.①Quality of life of discharged patients with COVID-19: the physical component summary (PCS) scores and mental component summary (MCS) scores were (37.02±12.32) and (38.46±14.42) respectively; there were 3 cases (5.56%), 45 cases (83.33%), 5 cases (9.26%), and 1 case (1.85%) with dyspnea grade 0 to 3 respectively; 19 cases (35.19%) had an anxiety state (SAS≥50), and 19 cases (35.19%) had an anxiety state (SDS≥53). ②Comparison of quality of life of COVID-19 patients with different characteristics: patients with different disease types showed statistically significant differences in the SF-12V2 PCS(P< 0.05). ③Correlation analysis between quality of life, anxiety, depression and dyspnea: Pearson's correlation indicated that, anxiety (r=-0.34, P=0.011) and dyspnea (r=-0.39, P=0.003) were negatively correlated with the PCS scores, anxiety (r=-0.46, P=0.001) and depression (r=-0.40, P=0.002) were negatively correlated with the MCS scores.④Analysis of influencing factors on the quality of life of COVID-19 patients: multiple linear regression indicated that, sex (β=8.27), depression (β=-0.34) and severity of illness (β=-11.68) were significant predictors of the SF-12V2 PCS scores (P< 0.05). …”
