A survey on key technologies of privacy protection for machine learning by Zishan LIU, Qiang CHENG, Bo LV

    Published 2020-11-01
“…With the development of information and communication technology,large-scale data collection has vastly promoted the application of machine learning in various fields. However, the data involved in machine learning often contains a lot of personal private information, which makes privacy protection face new risks and challenges, and has attracted more and more attention. The current progress of the related laws, regulations and standards to the personal privacy protection and data safety in machine learning were summarized. The existing work on privacy protection for machine learning was presented in detail.Privacy protection algorithms usually have influence on the data quality, model performance and communication cost. Thus, the performance of the privacy protection algorithms should be comprehensively evaluated in multiple dimensions. The performance evaluation metrics for the privacy protection algorithms for machine learning were presented, given with the conclusion that the privacy preservation on machine learning needs to balance the data quality, model convergence rate and communication cost.…”

Fast QTMT partition decision based on deep learning by Shuang PENG, Xiaodong WANG, Zongju PENG, Fen CHEN

    Published 2021-04-01
“…Compared with the predecessor standards, versatile video coding (VVC) significantly improves compression efficiency by a quadtree with nested multi-type tree (QTMT) structure but at the expense of extremely high coding complexity. To reduce the coding complexity of VVC, a fast QTMT partition method was proposed based on deep learning.Firstly, an attention-asymmetric convolutional neural network was proposed to predict the probability of partition modes. Then, the fast decision of partition modes based on the threshold was proposed. Finally, the cost of coding performance and time was proposed to obtain the optimal threshold, and the threshold decision method was proposed.Experimental results at different levels show that the proposed method achieves an average time saving of 48.62%/52.93%/62.01% with the negligible BDBR of 1.05%/1.33%/2.38%.Such results demonstrate that the proposed method significantly outperforms other state-of-the-art methods.…”

Prediction of Compressive Strength of Concrete and Rock Using an Elementary Instance-Based Learning Algorithm by Shun-Chieh Hsieh

    Published 2021-01-01
“…Therefore, in order to predict material strength, as the direct method by conducting tests is time-consuming and expensive and experimental errors are inevitable, an indirect method based on elementary instance-based learning algorithm was proposed. The standard k-nearest neighbors (k-NN) with cross-validation were utilized to develop compressive strength prediction models for some concretes and rocks by considering indirect parameters such as physical and mechanical parameters. …”

Structural Dynamic Analysis of Endogenous Vibration of Large-span Plant at Datengxia Hydro Project by LI Shuai, XIE Ji'an

    Published 2022-01-01
“…The vibration energy generated by the internal source vibration during the operation of the power plant room is very large, which will endanger the safety of the building and the health of the operating personnel when serious. So the endogenous vibration characteristics of the plant as a whole and important individual structures were carried out based on finite element calculation theory, and the vibration response of the power plant house under unit vibration load and flow channel pulsation pressure was calculated. The results show that the natural vibration frequency of the whole plant and the important single structure and the main vibration source of the unit have enough stagger, under the vibration load of the unit or the pulsating pressure of the flow passage. The vibration displacement, velocity and acceleration response amplitudes of the workshop structure meet the control standard under the vibration load of the unit or the pulsating pressure of the flow passage. In summary, the effect of endogenous vibration loads at different frequencies in the Datengxia Hydro Project will not adversely affect the safe operation of the powerhouse.…”

Research on content distribution mechanism of MP2P networks by Guo-yin ZHANG, Lu LI, Jian-guo SUN, Xiang-hui WANG

    Published 2013-05-01
“…In consideration of the current MP2P network disturbance from frequent location changes of the mobile nodes, the limited computing power and storage capacity,a flexible strategy of partition management by assigning different functions to nodes according to some standards, regarding a subnet as a unit and using super-nodes to manage subnets were proposed. In order to speed up the data transmission and replacement efficiency, data was processed with partial network coding technology.Additionally,a trans-subnet query algorithm was proposed to link subnets, conduct informa-tion exchange between subnets and resource location. Results of the experiment manifested that this strategy can effi-ciently increase the resource download success rate and hit rate, reduce the average delay, improve the content distribu-tion efficiency of MP2P networks, and simultaneously enhance system robustness.…”
