    Published 2021-01-01
“…As a kind of finite element analysis software,ABAQUS is widely used in nonlinear simulation field, but there is no universal and mature reliability calculation module. Therefore,it is necessary to establish a general reliability calculation program for Monte Carlo simulation based on finite element model to meet the automation requirements of reliability calculation of various structures in ABAQUS.This paper firstly puts forward the design idea and main functions of reliability calculation program in ABAQUS,including random number generation, model batch building, automatic result extraction and so on;then, develops the pre-processing and post-processing modules of ABAQUS with Python language for modularizing the main functions of the program;finally, introduces the application method of this reliability calculation program in detail taking the reliability calculation process of the finite element model of a simply supported steel truss bridge as an example. This reliability calculation program can effectively improve the degree of automation in the process of structural reliability calculation, and reduce the calculation time, which has great reference value in engineering application.…”

STUDY ON THE EFFECT OF RESIDUAL STRESS FIELD ON THE CRACK GROWTH RATE OF CIVIL WELDED PLATE by CHEN YangLiu, SONG Xin, BAI ChengZheng, SHENG HongWei, ZHANG JiaZhen

    Published 2018-01-01
“…In order to reduce the cost of fatigue crack growth test and shorten the research period of welding process on new aircraft siding structure, this paper uses Abaqus finite element software to simulate welding residual stress field by using predefined temperature field method. The stress intensity factor values of crack tip are obtained by finite element simulation.Based on the structural characteristics of large welded plate, the Pairs formula was used to predict the crack propagation rate of welded plate.Based on this model, the fatigue crack growth rate of specimens with different stress ratio and welding process was studied. It is found that the effective stress ratio increases with the residual stress, but the effect decreases with the increase of the stress ratio. The trend of the effective stress ratio is similar to that of the residual stress distribution. The welding residual stress increases the crack growth rate of the welded structure. The feasibility of the proposed method is verified by comparison with the experimental results.…”

NUMERICAL SIMULATION AND PREDICTION OF AXIAL IMPACT LOAD FOR THIN-WALLED CIRCULAR TUBE WITH INTERNAL AND OUTER STAGGERED GROOVES by DU JinYu, YANG XiaoXiang, WEI TiePing, GUO JinQuan

    Published 2020-01-01
“…The properties of energy absorption can be effectively improved by different induced structures for thin-walled straight tube.Finite element software(LS-DYNA) was used to simulate the transient response of thin-walled circular tube with internal and outer staggered grooves under axial impact.Axial shock characteristics of force for thin-walled circular tubes with different grooves were compared. The mean load formula considering strain rate effect was derived based on Hosseinipour ’s deformation model.Geometric parameter was introduced to predict peak load. The results show that the thin-walled circular tube with internal and outer staggered grooves can reduce 62.24% peak load and 56.26% mean load compared with thin-walled straight tube. The fold deformation is symmetrical and consistent with Hosseinipour’s deformation model. The prediction results of mean load and peak load are consistent with the finite element results.…”

Study on Application of Reinforcement Measures for Spillway Foundation on Thick Collapse Accumulation Body by WANG Jun, NING Yu, HUANG Qingfu

    Published 2020-01-01
“…The foundation of spillway in the accumulation body is characterized by low bearing capacity, poor stability and large and uneven settlement due to the properties of an accumulation body.In particular, the bottom plate cracking and staggering along the transverse joints caused by uneven settlement of the foundation in the chute section will cause serious damage to the entire chute section under the action of high-speed water flow.Combined with the engineering example, this paper conducts the numerical analysis the vertical settlement displacement distribution and chute structure joint opening of the spillway on the accumulation body by a large finite element software. The research on the improvement effect for spillway foundation strengthened by “replacement method” shows that the method can significantly reduce the vertical settlement of spillway structure.Changing the vertical joints of each section of chute to lap joints can greatly reduce the opening of structural joints. In conclusion, the method proposed in the study is very effective in improving the bearing capacity of spillway foundation and reducing uneven settlement, and is feasible and reasonable in construction and economy, respectively.…”
