Wi-freshness: research on CSI-based pork freshness detecting system by Chao NIU, Weidong YANG, Pengming HU, Xiangshang GAO, Erbo SHEN

    Published 2023-06-01
“…Effective and rapid detection of pork freshness is important for pork quality. However, traditional sensory evaluation methods are too subjective, physical and chemical analysis methods are time-consuming and destructive.Recently, radio frequency is widely used in the field of location, material identification and human body monitoring, while, the meat freshness detection is ignored.A real-time, non-destructive and low-cost system for pork freshness detecting based on channel state information (CSI) was proposed. It is a new application of internet of things in the field of fresh agricultural products based on ubiquitous network (commercial Wi-Fi).The proposed Wi-freshness consists of four modules: CSI data sensing, data pre-processing, detection modelling and freshness detection.Considering the need for Wi-freshness data characteristic value processing is not much, and high demand for real-time prediction characteristics, a detection model based broad learning system (BLS) was proposed.Experiment shows that Wi-freshness system can achieve more than 93% detection accuracy.…”

Communication framework for directed transmission of informative semantic by Guangming SHI, Minxi YANG, Dahua GAO, Jingxuan CHAI

    Published 2023-05-01
“…As the traditional communication development model focusing on enhancing bandwidth and spectrum efficiency is getting bottlenecked, more and more research is shifting the goal of intelligent communication from the syntactic level to the semantic level to save bandwidth resources by sensing and transmitting semantics rather than the complete signal. For the receiver agent, it is enough to receive only the information part of the understandable semantics. If the informative parts from the semantics can be filtered for transmission, it will further reduce the bandwidth resources and the time and power consumption of semantic information processing at the sender-side.To this end, firstly, the process of semantic information processing and comprehension of an intelligent body was explored.Secondly, the semantics perceived by the receiver from the message were classified into redundant semantics, unintelligible semantics, and informative semantic. Then, a communication paradigm oriented to transmitting the informative part of the semantics, called informative communication, was proposed, and the communication paradigm was extended to include four layers: syntax, semantic, informative, and pragmatic. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of informative communication were verified through simulation. This provides new ideas and technical traction for the development of next-generation communication models.…”

LQG control-aware resource scheduling method for IEEE 802.11ax networks by Meng ZHENG, Lei ZHANG, Wei LIANG

    Published 2024-03-01
“…Due to the advantages in low cost, ease of maintenance and license-exempt spectrum, etc, IEEE 802.11ax is widely adopted in industrial control applications. For a wireless networked control system based on IEEE 802.11ax, a control-aware resource scheduling method was proposed to support the wireless high-speed control of multiple control systems.Firstly, considering the packet dropout problem of sensing data in IEEE 802.11ax, the optimal state estimator and the linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) control of the studied control system were given.Secondly, the dependency between the LQG performance and the transmission reliability of IEEE 802.11ax was analyzed, the expected LQG performance minimization problem of resource scheduling was formulated, and further, an LQG control-aware resource scheduling (LCARS) method was proposed. Finally, the effectiveness of the LCARS method was demonstrated via extensive simulations.LCARS can be applied to smart factory applications including navigation of automated guided vehicles, remote control of robots and so on.…”
