Study on Structure and Seepage Control Safety of Second-Phase Cofferdam in Datengxia Water Conservancy Project
Published 2023-01-01“…The second-phase earth-rock cofferdam in the Datengxia Water Conservancy Project is one of the most important temporary buildings, and its design and construction reflect major key technologies of the Datengxia Water Conservancy Project. In order to ensure the safety of the second-phase deepwater cofferdam project,a special scientific research demonstration was conducted on the structure and seepage control safety of the second-phase deepwater cofferdam. In view of the difficulty in determining the density of the cofferdam formed by deepwater dumping and the feasibility of the anti-seepage system with a single anti-seepage wall connected to the geomembrane, experimental research was carried out through the centrifugal model test,so as to determine the underwater dumping density and angle of repose, the mechanical characteristics of cofferdam filler, the shear characteristics of the interface between filler and plastic concrete, and the characteristics of plastic concrete materials. The finite element analysis of stress deformation and the seepage stability analysis of the cofferdam were carried out,and the safety analysis evaluation and the section optimization design of the cofferdam were performed. The second-phase cofferdam has undergone two flood seasons of safe water retention operation, with a small total seepage flow, slight maximum settlement, and low horizontal displacement. The scientific research work has well supported the design requirements.…”

Temporal and Spatial Characteristics of Precipitation in Minjiang River Basin in Recent 65 Years
Published 2022-01-01“…On the basis of the daily precipitation data of 50 meteorological stations in the Minjiang River Basin from 1956 to 2020,this paper conducts the trend change analysis and mutation test on annual and maximum seasonal precipitation by using the linear trend analysis, cumulative departure test, and sliding t-test.It reveals the temporal and spatial change of precipitation in the Minjiang River Basin and each component of the basin. The results indicate that the annual precipitation in the Minjiang River Basin inches up year by year with a slight change rate of 1.028 mm/10a from 1956 to 2020 and shows an increasing spatial distribution pattern from the northwest plateau to the southeast basin. The annual precipitation in the upper reaches of the Minjiang River Basin increases year by year at a rate of 11.711 mm/10a,presenting a significant rising tendency after 2017.The variation trends of precipitation in the middle and lower reaches of the Minjiang River Basin share a similar declining trend for a long time since the 1960s,with sudden changes in precipitation also occurring during this period. This paper seeks to provide references for understanding the temporal and spatial change of precipitation in the Minjiang River Basin and stipulating response measures for flood disasters and rational utilization of water resources in the basin.…”

Evaluation of the Exospheric Temperature Modeling From Different Empirical Orthogonal Functions
Published 2024-01-01“…It was found that all these three models can provide good specification of thermospheric density including day‐night, seasonal, and latitudinal variations. However, the ETM based on CHAMP and GRACE data gives a better performance in modeling the Equatorial Thermospheric Anomaly and the Midnight Density Maximum features than the MSIS‐ETM and TIEGCM‐ETM. …”

Analysis of Changes in Precipitation and Drought in Aksu River Basin, Northwest China
Published 2015-01-01“…The monthly analysis of precipitation series indicates that all stations had increasing trend in July, October, and December, while both increasing and decreasing trends were found in other months. For the seasonal scale, precipitation series had increasing trends in summer and winter. 33% of the stations had the decreasing trend on precipitation in the spring series, and it was 11% in the autumn. …”

Evaluation of Water Storage Change of Inland Cryosphere in Northwestern China
Published 2015-01-01“…The most pronounced increase in water storage occurred in Gansu and Qinghai provinces, but, overall, water storage increased by 0.61 mm/a over northwestern China during the study period. Clear seasonal variations of WSC and precipitation were found, because glacial meltwater and precipitation are the main sources of water in the hydrosphere; meanwhile, the distributions of glaciers and permafrost also affect the spatial distribution of WSC.…”
