Les « terroirs » maritimes revisités by Marie-Christine Cormier-Salem, Adama Mbaye

    Published 2018-06-01
“…We trace the chronicle of the end of the traditional tenure and their questioning with public and private enclosure process (public domain, EEZ, MPA, etc.); then we analyze their revival, given the changes of paradigm in terms of biodiversity conservation and the new approaches to co-management (or shared and sustainable governance), focusing on the local level. This dynamic is discussed through various West African examples, from global to local scales: the proposed regionalization of West African sea spaces of the World Bank, Act III of decentralization, completing the process of communalization of traditional terroirs and the creation of Marine Protected Areas and Areas of Community Heritage or the current craze for local sea-food products or meroir.…”

Analysis of Temporal and Spatial Variation of Tidal Wave Characteristics in Macao under the Influence of Reclamation by WANG Renchao, ZHANG Gongjin

    Published 2023-01-01
“…With the historical tidal level data, this paper analyzes the temporal and spatial variation characteristics of tidal constituents and the influence of reclamation intensity on tidal level variation in the Macao sea area over the years. The results indicate that the waters near the Macao station show irregular semidiurnal tides, and the tidal wave deformation is significant over the years and fluctuates in different periods. The value of HS2/HM2 at the Macao station fluctuates around 0.4 over the years, which reflects that the diurnal variation of tide height at the Macao station is significantly influenced by time. The empirical orthogonal function (EOF) method is used to discuss the long-series tidal level change at the Macao station. The variance contribution rate of the first characteristic vector is 79%,and it is a typical combination of tidal constituent amplitudes.According to the correlation analysis between the first characteristic vector and the reclamation strength of the Macao sea area, the correlation coefficient is 84%,which manifests that the reclamation project of Macao is the main influencing factor leading to the tidal wave deformation of the Macao sea area.…”

Paysage et risques naturels. Quelles perspectives pour l’adaptation du littoral au changement climatique ? by Charlotte Gustave Huteau

    Published 2019-07-01
“…On coastal areas, the landscape is likely to be impacted by erosion and rising sea levels. This raises the issue of how this concept of landscape can be used to convert some territories at risk, particularly to make certain measures more acceptable for the populations, or to propose innovative solutions. It appears that the notion of risk, and of landscape, have many connections that would be interesting to exploit in order to further consider the landscape in this context. …”
