Accurate Assessment of the Oxygen Reduction Electrocatalytic Activity of Mn/Polypyrrole Nanocomposites Based on Rotating Disk Electrode Measurements, Complemented with Multitechniq... by Patrizia Bocchetta, Carolina Ramírez Sánchez, Antonietta Taurino, Benedetto Bozzini

    Published 2016-01-01
“…The characterization of Mn/PPy films is addressed to the following: (i) morphology, as assessed by Field-Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM) and Atomic Force Microscope (AFM); (ii) local electrical conductivity, as measured by Scanning Probe Microscopy (SPM); and (iii) molecular structure, accessed by Raman Spectroscopy; these data provide the background against which the electrocatalytic activity can be rationalised. …”

Analysis of Titania Nanosheet Adsorption Behavior Using a Quartz Crystal Microbalance Sensor by Yuichiro Tashiro, Satoshi Komasa, Akiko Miyake, Hiroshi Nishizaki, Joji Okazaki

    Published 2018-01-01
“…This sensor was then alkali-modified by treatment with NaOH at room temperature to fabricate the titania nanosheets. Scanning probe microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy were performed to investigate the surface topology and chemical components of each sensor. …”

Study of morphology, chemical composition and corrosion resistance of «TiC–NiTi» hard alloy modified by powerful ion beam by A. M. Badamshin, A. O. Leptyuk

    Published 2022-04-01
“…The samples are characterized by scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X–ray analysis, scanning probe microscopy, and metallographic analysis. It is revealed that due to the impact of HPIB, the surface layer of the sample undergoes melting with the formation of extended microcracks. …”

Features of the receiving of piezoelectric thin films by plasma spraying of powdery AlN by V. S. Feshchenko, K. N. Zyablyuk, E. A. Senokosov, V. I. Chukita, D. A. Kiselev

    Published 2020-03-01
“…The piezoelectric properties of the obtained films were investigated by scanning probe microscopy. It is shown that their piezoelectric coefficient d33 is 60% of the value for a single-domain single-crystal sample for a diamond substrate, which indicates a sufficiently high quality of the resulting film.It is concluded that, although the quality of the layers strongly depends on the substrate, nevertheless, they exhibit a significant piezoelectric effect, which allows the use of this method for the manufacture of piezoelectric sensors, ultrasonic emitters, etc.…”

Visualizing stepwise evolution of carbon hybridization from sp 3 to sp 2 and to sp by Wei Xiong, Guang Zhang, De-Liang Bao, Jianchen Lu, Lei Gao, Yusen Li, Hui Zhang, Zilin Ruan, Zhenliang Hao, Hong-Jun Gao, Long Chen, Jinming Cai

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Here, we visiualize stepwise evolution in carbon hybridizations from sp³ to sp² and to sp states via dehydrogenation and elimination reactions of methylcyano-functionalized molecules on surfaces. Utilizing scanning probing microscopy, we distinguish three distinct carbon-carbon bond types within polymers induced by annealing at elevated temperatures. …”
