Ecological Flow of Intensively Developed and Utilized Rivers in Yunnan Province Based on Improved Tennant Method
Published 2023-01-01“…The ecological flow of rivers is the basic element for maintaining a river ecosystem and an important indicator for controlling the intensity of water resource development and utilization.Studying ecological flow is a significant part of endorsing river health.According to the characteristics of the intensively developed and utilized rivers in Yunnan Province, this paper takes the Niulan River system in the Jinsha River Basin as a representative to carry out ecological flow research. It proposes an improved Tennant method according to the division of the river's “water use period”,“flood control period”,and “water storage period” and compares it with three common hydrological methods.According to the comparison, the proposed improved Tennant method has obvious advantages in meeting the water use characteristics of rivers in development and utilization, the variation law of natural rivers' abundance and dryness throughout the year, the ecological environment conditions in the river course, and the ecological flow satisfaction rate in dry seasons.…”

Application of HEC-HMS Model in Flood Simulation of Qingshan River Basin
Published 2021-01-01“…It is more and more important to realize the fast simulation of flood process in the early warning of mountain flood disaster in small and medium river basins. This paper builds a distributed hydrological model for Qingshan River Basin by combining HEC-HMS model with GIS technology, extracts the characteristics of river system and conducts gridding on small basin based on DEM data, calculates the surface runoff by initial and constant loss method and Snyder unit hydrograph method, simulates the process of base flow recession through nonlinear boussinesq method, conducts the channel routing by Muskingum method, calibrates the parameters with the past 5 measured flood data,as well as verifies the prediction results by 13 floods. The simulation results show that during the verification period, the errors of peak discharge are all within 20%,the time difference for peaks is less than 3 h,the certainty coefficient is less than 0.7 for only 2 floods, and above 0.7 for others. The results show that with high accuracy and stability, the HEC-HMS model for flood simulation in this river basin conforms to the requirements of the flood forecast, which is of great application value for the exploration of small basin flood simulation and analysis.…”

Study on Flood Simulation and Its Real-time Correction of Qinhuai River Basin Based on Grid-Xin'anjiang Model
Published 2021-01-01“…There are many small and medium-sized rivers in China, with frequent floods and serious disasters, which are the key weak links in flood prevention and control.Qinhuai River system is one of the most important water bodies in Nanjing, and the possible flood disaster in the flood season poses a threat to the life and property safety in the whole city.Taking Qianhan Village in Qinhuai River basin as the research object, this paper conducts the flood simulation through the Xin'anjiang model and Grid-Xin'anjiang model, and corrects it in real time by the KNN method and feedback method,so as to realize fast and accurate flood forecasting calculation. The results show that without real-time correction, the simulation accuracy of the Grid-Xin'anjiang model is slightly better than that of the Xin'anjiang model, and the simulation results of the two models are generally good. After real-time correction, the simulation results of the Xin'anjiang model and the Grid-Xin'anjiang model are improved obviously, which can provide an important basis for the decision of flood control and disaster reduction in the Qinhuai River Basin.…”

Simulation Analysis of Salt Diffusion at Wanquan River Estuary under Changing Environment
Published 2022-01-01“…The diffusion of offshore salt in inland rivers along with tidal waves has an important effect on the aquatic ecological environment of the estuary area. This paper, taking the Wanquan River Estuary as an example, used the Mike21 model to simulate the salinity distribution along the channel under different runoff and tidal levels and analyzed the change rules and leading factors. The results show that the river system and riverbed topography at the Wanquan River Estuary reduce the upward diffusion of salt propelled by the tide and that the salt is mainly distributed in the waters near the estuary. The salinity distribution along the upper reaches of the river decreases rapidly, and it basically remains unchanged when the tidal level increases by 0.1 m and 0.3 m,respectively.A sudden increase in salinity occurs where a curved or narrow channel changes the local water flow and salt accumulates. The upward diffusion range of salt is mainly affected by runoff. …”

Study on Ecological Security Assessment of Dongjiang River Basin in Jiangxi Province Based on PSFR Model
Published 2021-01-01“…In order to find out the ecological security situation of Dongjiang River Basin in Jiangxi Province, and formulate targeted ecological protection measures for protecting the clear water of the Dongjiang River, this paper determines the weight of indexes through the “Pressure-State-Function-Risk”(PSFR) model and analytic hierarchy process (AHP),establishes and optimizes the ecological security assessment system of Dongjiang River Basin in Jiangxi Province, and combines with “3S” technology and expert support system to evaluate the ecological security of Dongjiang River Basin in Jiangxi Province. The results show that:The ecological security index (ESI) of Dongjiang River Basin is 74.80,and the ecological security state of the Dongjiang River Basin is relatively safe. The main environmental problems in the river basin are the disconnection of the river system, the failure of the water environment quality to reach the standard, the reduction of the aquatic biological resources and diversity, etc. The severe human activities, the high density of hydraulic structures, the potential pollution of mining and orchard development, the degradation of important habitat area, the degradation of wetland area and the weakening of watershed ecological service function are the causes. On the basis of the assessment, the main factors affecting the ecological security of the river basin are put forward in this paper, which provides technical basis for the formulation of the next protection plan, and the index system has a strong reference significance to the fine management of ecological risk control in other basins.…”

Composition and Water Ecology Indication of Functional Feeding Groups of Zoobenthos in Liuxi River
Published 2022-01-01“…The Liuxi River is the most important river system in Guangzhou, and systematic monitoring and assessment provide basic information for the health management of the Liuxi River ecosystem.Field in-situ sampling of zoobenthos in the Liuxi River was conducted during the dry (March) and wet (September) seasons in 2019 to explore the spatio-temporal distribution characteristics of functional feeding groups (FFGs) of zoobenthos, and the habitat conditions of the Liuxi River were assessed by the composition of the zoobenthos FFGs.The results show that the main group of zoobenthos in the Liuxi River Basin is collectors, followed by scrapers and predators, whereas filterers and shredders are rarely observed. The dominant groups at the sampling sites in the upper and middle reaches are moderate pollution tolerant collectors (Baetidae and Corbiculidae) and pollution tolerant collectors (Chironomidae),while the sampling sites in the lower reaches are overwhelmingly dominated by pollution tolerant collectors (Chironomidae).Environmental factors significantly affect the distribution of zoobenthos FFGs.Specifically, the key environmental factors in the dry season are velocity and NO3,while those in the wet season are SiO2 and velocity. The attributes of the Liuxi River ecosystem were analyzed on the basis of the composition of the zoobenthos FFGs.The results indicate that the ecosystems at most of the sampling sites in the Liuxi River are heterotrophic ones, and the riparian zone of this basin is not healthy. The longitudinal transport ability of the river is mostly in an unhealthy state.Predators' control effect is normal except at some sampling sites in the upper reaches. The basin maintains favorable habitat stability except at the sampling sites affected by sand dredging.…”
