Spatiotemporal variability of groundwater chemistry, source identification and health risks in the southern Chinese Loess Plateau
Published 2025-01-01“…In this study, 146 water samples were investigated to identify the spatiotemporal variability in groundwater chemistry, pollution sources and nitrate health risks in two interconnected river basins of a typical loess region. The results showed that except for bicarbonate, spatiotemporal variability of hydrochemical components in Malian River Basin (ML) was generally greater than that in Upper Jinghe River basin (JH-U) due to the hydrogeological conditions, and the hydrochemical facies in two river basins transformed from SO4·Cl and Cl·SO4 types to HCO3 and HCO3·SO4 types. …”

Ecological Flow of Intensively Developed and Utilized Rivers in Yunnan Province Based on Improved Tennant Method
Published 2023-01-01“…The ecological flow of rivers is the basic element for maintaining a river ecosystem and an important indicator for controlling the intensity of water resource development and utilization.Studying ecological flow is a significant part of endorsing river health.According to the characteristics of the intensively developed and utilized rivers in Yunnan Province, this paper takes the Niulan River system in the Jinsha River Basin as a representative to carry out ecological flow research. It proposes an improved Tennant method according to the division of the river's “water use period”,“flood control period”,and “water storage period” and compares it with three common hydrological methods.According to the comparison, the proposed improved Tennant method has obvious advantages in meeting the water use characteristics of rivers in development and utilization, the variation law of natural rivers' abundance and dryness throughout the year, the ecological environment conditions in the river course, and the ecological flow satisfaction rate in dry seasons.…”

Analysis and Recheck of Reinforcement Scheme of Dikes in a Polder
Published 2022-01-01“…The dike reinforcement project in a polder has a total length of 8 873 m.There are some local problems along the dikes, such as the insufficient crest elevation, thin dikes, insufficient stability of dike slopes, leakage of dikes, and damaged pavement on the crest, which affect the flood control safety of dikes and cannot meet the normal operation requirements. Therefore,on the basis of analyzing the present situation and problems, targeted research on dike reinforcement design is carried out,and the design principles of dike reinforcement are put forward. Moreover,we implement the design contents, including the recheck of crest elevation, reinforcement design of dike sections,anti-sliding stability recheck of dike slopes,anti-seepage and reinforcement design of dikes, and effect evaluation. The reinforcement design scheme fully considers the actual local situation, which meets the overall flood control requirements of the river basin and is compatible with the local existing flood control projects for operation. The proposed dike reinforcement design scheme has certain universality and can be used as a reference for dike reinforcement in plain areas.…”

Analysis for Hydrological Regime of the Lower Reaches of Geheyan Reservoir Based on IHA-RVA Method
Published 2020-01-01“…In order to evaluate quantitatively the change of ecological and hydrological regime of the lower reaches of Geheyan reservoir, based on the daily flow data of Changyang hydrological station from 1951 to 2010,this paper analyzes the flow trend with the non-parameter Mann-Kendall trend test, and the abrupt change points by Mann-Kendall test, moving t test and ordered clustering, and then comprehensively evaluates the ecological and hydrological changes of Changyang section at the lower reaches of the Geheyan reservoir with IHA-RVA (indicators of hydrologic alteration and range of variability approach) and hydrological alteration degree evaluation. The results show that:The annual average runoff of Changyang station shows unobvious downward trend. In 2000,there was an abrupt change. In overall, the hydrological regime is featured with 58% of moderate change, and indicators with the most obvious change are the base flow index, time of annual minimum flow, duration of low flow pulse and number of reversals, which can provide reference for water ecological protection of Qingjiang River Basin.…”
