Research on Water Quality Improvement Method Based on Slowly-Stored and Quickly-Released System in Xi'an Moat by SUN Chao, HAN Weigang, NONG Xiaoying, WANG Hui, WANG Wenyu, GAO Zehai

    Published 2023-01-01
“…The slowly-stored and quickly-released system was studied to explore the method of optimizing the hydrodynamic force of rivers in arid regions and reveal its effect on water quality. The south-west tributary of Xi'an moat was defined as the study area.A hydrodynamic force-water quality coupling model of the moat was built based on the collected data of current water quality and hydrodynamic force by using MIKE21.In the coupling model, the impounding gate was designed based on the dam body of the moat to simulate the scouring and silting capacity of the lower reaches caused by rapid discharge from the upper reaches of the channel. The influence law of rapid discharge at different water levels and water quality conditions on hydrodynamics and water quality of the moat was studied. The numerical simulation results from MIKE21 show that water level has a significant influence on the hydrodynamic force, and water quality has a significant influence on the pollutant concentration. The simulation results of the hydrodynamic force-water quality coupling model of the moat show that the working condition with a 1-meter water level and class Ⅲ inlet water quality can greatly improve the water quality and hydrodynamic force of Xi'an moat.By using the water reaching the standard of the class Ⅲ inlet water quality as the supply source, the water quality of Xi'an moat can be effectively improved by enhancing the hydrodynamic force of the moat.…”

Spatial Network Structures of Urban Agglomeration Based on the Improved Gravity Model: A Case Study in China’s Two Urban Agglomerations by Yubo Zhao, Gui Zhang, Hongwei Zhao

    Published 2021-01-01
“…The resulting improved directional gravity model is applied to analyze the structure of the city network for two urban agglomerations in China, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration (BTHUA) and the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration (YRDUA). The results of the study are as follows: (1) the existing urban connections have obvious hierarchies and imbalances, with the YRDUA urban hierarchical connections being of larger scale. (2) Cities are closely connected, but city networks are unbalanced, though the YRDUA has more balanced urban development. (3) Each node city has a clear radiation range limit, and spatial distance remains an important constraint on urban connections. …”

Harpacticoid assemblages (Copepoda: Harpacticoida) in the hyporheic zone of four streams in central Slovenia by Nataša Mori, Anton Brancelj

    Published 2021-06-01
“…The goal of this study was to investigate distribution patterns of interstitial harpacticoid assemblages from four pre-Alpine streams originating in the Dinaric Karst and flowing into the Ljubljanica River. The sampling was conducted in 2002 at 12 locations distributed at a distance of approximately 1 km along each stream including tributaries, at a depth of 30–60 cm in the wetted channel (three sites per location) and depths from 65 to 160 cm on the stream banks (one site per location) using a Bou-Rouch pump. …”
