Analysis on the Variation Characteristics of Rainstorm and Cause of Flood in Central Yunnan — Take Downtown of Yuxi City as an Example by ZHU Wenxiang

    Published 2021-01-01
“…Taking the downtown of Yuxi as an example, based on the maximum 1h and 24h rainstorm data of Dongfeng station from 1981 to 2019,this paper studies the variation characteristics of short-duration rainstorm in central Yunnan by the linear moving average,Mann-Kendall test and Hurst index, analyzes the causes of urban flood and puts forward countermeasures and suggestions. The results show that:The annual maximum 1 h and 24 h precipitation in downtown of Yuxi presented an insignificant fluctuation and rising trend, with the change rate of 1.4 mm/10a and 0.6 mm/10a respectively. The Hurst index of maximum 1 h and 24 h precipitation over the years is 0.57 and 0.56 respectively, which is consistent with the trend of future changes and relatively weak in continuity. The maximum 1 h precipitation sequence of the Dongfeng station changed suddenly in 1987,2002,2007 and 2013,while the maximum 24 h precipitation sequence changed suddenly in 2000,2009 and 2013.The annual maximum 1 h and 24 h precipitation mostly occurred in August and June, with a high concentration of rainstorm. The average P1h/P24h of the same rainstorm was 47.2%,and the largest proportion was 71.4%.Based on the causes of flood,it is suggested to regulate the river system, improve the pipe network, build new rain and sewage pipe network, construct the sponge city at all areas, and establish a scientific hydrological monitoring system and prediction and early warning platform for urban flood control and drainage.…”

Description and Dynamic Analyses of the 1935 Luchedu Rock Avalanche in Sichuan, China by Jie Cui, Chunyu Gao, Zhilong Zhang, Guifu Xiang

    Published 2022-01-01
“…The Luchedu rock avalanche (LRA) that occurred in 1935 at the junction of Sichuan and Yunnan in Southwest China is a disaster chain of the rock slide, debris avalanche, and river blocking induced by heavy rainfall. The rock slide originated from the wedge formed by sheet metamorphic rocks on the fault zone on the left bank of the Jinsha River. …”

Monthly Water Level Prediction Based on ESMD-VMD-ESN Hybrid Model by LI Ang, ZHANG Kun, SANG Yuting, BI Wan

    Published 2022-01-01
“…Water level sequence contain complex features of multiple frequency information. To improve the prediction accuracy of the water level sequences,a combined model was developed based on Extreme-point Symmetric Mode Decomposition (ESMD),Variational Mode Decomposition (VMD) and Echo State Network (ESN),namely ESMD-VMD-ESN.And it was applied to forecast water level of the Taipuzha station in the upper reaches of Taipu River. The predictive effect of the “first decomposition-second decomposition-prediction-reconstruction” model was explored by comparing it with a single model ESN and the combination model ESMD-ESN.The results show that ESMD-VMD-ESN has the highest accuracy, followed by ESMD-ESN,and the lowest ESN accuracy.Compared with the ESN,the Willmott's Index of Agreement (WIA) and Pearson Correlation Coefficient (PCC) of ESMD-ESN respectively increased by 51% and 11%,the Mean Absolute Error (MAE) and Root Mean Squard Error (RMSE) of ESMD-ESN respectively decreased by 14% and 45%.ESMD can effectively simplify the water level sequence and reduce the prediction error.Compared with the ESMD-ESN,the WIA and PCC of ESMD-VMD-ESN respectively increased by 5% and 10%,the MAE and RMSE of ESMD-ESN respectively decreased by 52% and 50%.VMD can further simplify the highest frequency component of ESMD and improving the model prediction accuracy. In conclusion, the combined model ESMD-VMD-ESN has well applicability and stability in the monthly water level prediction.…”

Analysis of the Impact of Sewage Outfall on the Water Quality of Coastal Waters of Macau Based on MIKE21 Model by CHANG Ze, ZHANG Qionghai, JIANG Yu, SUN Ning, HE Rui, WANG Tengfei, WU Yaju, LONG Xiaofei

    Published 2021-01-01
“…This paper simulates the impact of the sewage outfall of the Macau Taipa Wastewater Treatment Plant on the water quality changes in the nearby Lingding Ocean by the hydrodynamic module (HD) and the transmission diffusion module (TR) of the MIKE21 model, provides the boundary conditions for the local two-dimensional tidal current model (built by MIKE21) through the one and two-dimensional integrated tidal current model of the Pearl River Estuary area, and analyzes the impact of pollutant diffusion under normal discharge and accident discharge in terms of the three evaluation factors, namely CODCr (chemical oxygen demand),SS (total suspended solids) and NH3-N (Ammonia-Nitrogen),under the “2005·6” flood combination and “2001·2” low water combination as the most unfavorable hydrological conditions. The results show that the water quality of main channel can meet the Class Ⅲ standard among the Sea Water Quality Standards (GB 3097—1997).With proper preventive measure, the out-of-limit water area under accidental discharge is less than 0.2 km2.This model has good adaptability to the simulation of the diffusion of pollutants into the coastal waters of Macau,so it can better simulate the impact of sewage discharge on the water quality of the sea under the action of ocean tides, and serve as a basis and research direction for the establishment of sewage outfall.…”
