Analysis of Hydrodynamic Characteristics of Semi-Enclosed Harbors—a Cause Study of Xiangzhou Port by YANG Yugui, XUAN Xiaoming, LIU Guozhen, TONG Xiaolei, YUAN Fei

    Published 2023-01-01
“…Affected by the construction of a series of projects, the semi-enclosed harbor often appears the phenomenon of weakening hydrodynamic force and worsening water exchange. In order to study the impact of project construction on the hydrodynamic environment of semi-closed harbors,a typical semi-enclosed port, namely Xiangzhou Fishing Port,in the Pearl River Estuary was taken as an example, and the impact of detailed control planning of the surrounding areas on flood discharge, tidal influx, and water exchange in Xiangzhou Fishing Port was studied. The results show that after the implementation of the planning scheme, the water level of the water area near the planning area and the upstream entrance gate,as well as the tidal volume of the tidal channel on the west side of Lingdingyang change slightly, but the tidal volume in the area of Xiangzhou Port decreases by about 1%.The hydrodynamic force is further weakened, and the semi-exchange cycle of the water body increases by about 3.2%.In particular, the water exchange capacity in the northwest corner of the port area is relatively poor, which is unfavorable to the water environment for a long time, and it is necessary to take hydrodynamic enhancement measures. The research results can provide a reference for hydrodynamic improvement in the water area of Xiangzhou Port.…”

Research on Simulation Method for Incoming Flood of Tianyi Reservoir Considering the Influence of Karst Geomorphology by YAN Kang, LIU Jianhua, LIN Kangling, WANG Shengyang, CHEN Hua, CHEN Jie, CHEN Senlin

    Published 2022-01-01
“…The karst in karst areas leads to a more complex runoff formation process, and the construction of water conservancy projects has aggravated the complexity and uncertainty of the production and confluence process in the basin. On this basis,a semi-distributed incoming flood simulation model of Tianyi Reservoir in the Nanpanjiang River was built by the Xin'anjiang model for karst geomorphology, considering the influence of upstream karst geomorphology. The results reveal that:① the built Xin'anjiang model for karst geomorphology can well simulate the incoming flood process of Tianyi Reservoir, and the simulation accuracy index of each zone is greater than that of the traditional Xin'anjiang model;② the Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency (NSE) coefficient in the series incoming flood simulation of Tianyi Reservior based on the model constructed in this paper is greater than 0.86 during both the calibration period and the validation period, and the volume error is within 12%,which indicates that the simulation results of the constructed model are good;③ the forecast accuracy is evaluated for six typical incoming floods of Tianyi Reservoir from 2018 to 2020,and the evaluation suggests that the built zonal forecast scheme meets the specification accuracy requirements. Thus, the results of the study can provide a reference for hydrological simulation in the upstream karst area of Tianyi Reservoir.…”

Construction and Application of Grid-Xin'anjiang Model Within Daheba Watershed in Shaanxi Province by HE Chengmin, GU Zhao

    Published 2020-01-01
“…Taking Daheba watershed, the tributary of Hanjiang River in Shaanxi Province as the study area, this paper constructs the Grid-Xin'anjiang model through DEM (Digital Elevation Model) data analysis and geomorphic feature parameter extraction, applies it to simulate and analyze the runoff process of the watershed and the dynamic changes of spatial distribution of free water content, and carries out the flood simulation verification by the measured data of 7 flood in the special hydrological station of Daheba from 2011 to 2014 to verify the reliability of the constructed Grid-Xin'anjiang model. The results show that the simulation error of peak discharge can be controlled below 20% basically, the error of peak time is within 3 h,and the uncertainty coefficient is above 0.78,which indicating that the Grid-Xin'anjiang model can satisfactorily simulate the flood processes within Daheba watershed of Shaanxi Province. At the same time, taking the rainfall runoff process on July 16,2013 and July 25,2013 as an example,it analyzes the dynamic change of spatial distribution of free water content. As a result, combined with the physical meaning of free water content, the development of rainfall process and the evaluation of flood process precision at the outlet of the watershed,it can be concluded that the Grid-Xin'anjiang model can simulate the dynamic distribution of free water content accurately.…”

Study on Water Purification Effect of Different Plants in Constructed Wetland of South China by YANG Yongmin, SUN Yiting

    Published 2022-01-01
“…Constructed wetlands feature low operating costs and investment,no secondary pollution, good landscape effects, and fast results in short construction periods. In the construction of constructed wetlands, plants play an extremely important role in the purification of sewage from wetlands. To screen suitable wetland plants under the climatic conditions in south China, this paper studies the adaptability of plants to low-concentration domestic sewage and determines the purification efficiency of pollutants and the relationship between the activity of root-zone matrix enzymes and purification efficiency. The test results reveal that rushes, river grass, heliconia, and shell ginger are obviously not suitable for the simulated constructed wetland environment irrigated by sewage, while pickerelweed, cattails, calamus, elephant grass, coix, and windmill grass grow fast and have large biomass, which are suitable for planting in sewage environment.Considering indicators such as the adaptability, purification ability, stress resistance, and landscape effect of the tested wetland plants to the sewage environment,it is concluded that the elephant grass, calamus, cattails, coix, windmill grass, calla, philodendrons,Echinodorus Osiris, and pickerelweed are more suitable for the constructed wetland system. There is a significant correlation between the phosphatase activity and urease and the CODCr removal rate of potted plants, and the enzyme activity of the root-zone matrix urease is not significantly correlated with the TN removal rate and TP removal rate of potted plants.…”
