Efficient Method to Approximately Solve Retrial Systems with Impatience by Jose Manuel Gimenez-Guzman, M. Jose Domenech-Benlloch, Vicent Pla, Jorge Martinez-Bauset, Vicente Casares-Giner

    Published 2012-01-01
“…We present a novel technique to solve multiserver retrial systems with impatience. Unfortunately these systems do not present an exact analytic solution, so it is mandatory to resort to approximate techniques. …”

Further Research on the M/G/1 Retrial Queueing Model with Server Breakdowns by Ehmet Kasim, Geni Gupur

    Published 2012-01-01
“…We study spectral properties of the operator which corresponds to the M/G/1 retrial queueing model with server breakdowns and obtain that all points on the imaginary axis except zero belong to the resolvent set of the operator and 0 is not an eigenvalue of the operator. …”

Performance Analysis of Two Different Types of Waiting Queues with Working Vacations by M. Sundararaman, D. Narasimhan, P. Rajadurai

    Published 2024-01-01
“…This work examines a new class of working vacation queueing models that contain regular (original) and retrial waiting queues. Upon arrival, a customer either starts their service instantly if the server is available, or they join the regular queue if the server is occupied. …”

Research on scheduled WLAN MAC protocol with failure retries on RoF-DAS architecture by Zheng GUAN, Lei XIONG, Yao JIA, Min HE, Zhijun YANG

    Published 2020-03-01
“…Aim to reduce control frames consumption and improve the delay performance,a scheduled gated-service polling access (SGPA) mechanism was proposed,in which the total data packets in the buffer at the polling instant were aggregated into a data set, that was transmitted and acknowledged uniformly. Then,an inner-arrival gated-service polling (IAGP) model was proposed to analyze the quantitative relationship between failure retry mechanism and network access performance of the wireless local area network (WLAN) in RoF-DAS.The failure retry mechanism were modeled as the arrival and service process of inner customers in IAGP.Using the Markov chain and generating function method, the closed-form expressions for the quantitative relationship between delay performance and retrial parameters, such as retry times, and the probability of retransmission, were achieved. The simulation results show that the proposed SGPA can achieve a lower delay than IEEE 802.11,and the theoretical performance evaluation calculated by IAGP are identical with the simulation results, which provides an effective evaluation mechanism for the access performance in RoF-DAS WLAN,with inperfect channel and failure retry mechanism.…”
