New Insights into the PPARγ Agonists for the Treatment of Diabetic Nephropathy
Published 2014-01-01“…Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is a severe complication of diabetes and serves as the leading cause of chronic renal failure. In the past decades, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs)/angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs) based first-line therapy can slow but cannot stop the progression of DN, which urgently requests the innovation of therapeutic strategies. …”

Progress in the application of novel inflammatory indicators in chronic kidney disease
Published 2025-01-01“…Recent studies have demonstrated that novel inflammatory indices, such as the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio, platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio, and systemic immune-inflammatory index are closely associated with CKD, meanwhile may serve as prognostic monitors of all-cause death and poor renal prognosis for the disease. This article comprehensively reports on the mechanisms of micro-inflammation in CKD, the relationship between inflammatory indicators and CKD, and their impact on prognosis.…”

Risk factors of postoperative complications of gastrointestinal tumor in elderly patients
Published 2025-01-01“…[Results] A total of 71 (29.34%) patients developed postoperative complications during hospitalization.Univariate analysis showed that there were significant differences in American Society of Anesthesiologists classification, New York Heart Association classification, Barthel index, minimally invasive surgery, preoperative chronic renal insufficiency, preoperative abnormal lung imaging, preoperative urea nitrogen level, preoperative activated partial thromboplastin time and operation time between patients with complications and those without complications (P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that Barthel index ≤60, operation time and abnormal preoperative lung imaging were independent risk factors for postoperative complications of gastrointestinal tumors in elderly patients (P<0.05), and minimally invasive surgery was a protective factor (P<0.05). …”
