A Simulated Galaxy Laboratory: Exploring the Observational Effects on UV Spectral Absorption Line Measurements
Published 2025-01-01“…We use a simulated galaxy to create 22,500 spectra in the commonly used Si ii lines while also modeling the signal-to-noise ratio and spectral resolution of recent rest-frame UV galaxy surveys at both high and low redshifts. We show that the residual flux of absorption features is easily overestimated for single line measurements and for stacked spectra. …”

MUSEQuBES: Unveiling Cosmic Web Filaments at z ≈ 3.6 through Dual Absorption and Emission Line Analysis
Published 2025-01-01“…Additionally, two other low-metallicity ([ X / H ] ≲ −2) absorption systems are detected at similar redshifts, one of which is also a pLLS. Very Large Telescope (VLT) MUSE observations reveal a significant overdensity of Ly α emitters (LAEs) associated with these absorbers. …”

Constraints on Relativistic Jets from the Fast X-Ray Transient 210423 Using Prompt Radio Follow-up Observations
Published 2025-01-01“…Considering a wide range of possible redshifts z ≤ 3.5, circumstellar medium density n = 10 ^−6 –10 ^−1 cm ^−3 , and isotropic-equivalent jet kinetic energy E _k _,iso = 10 ^48 –10 ^55 erg, we find that we can rule out wide jets with opening angle θ _j = 15° viewed within 10° off-axis. …”

A Dual Active Black Hole Candidate with Mass Ratio ~7:1 in a Disk Galaxy
Published 2025-01-01“…We explore alternative scenarios for explaining the observational features of this system, including the complex gas kinematics triggered by central AGN activity and dust attenuation of the broad-line region of the central BH, finding that they failed to fully account for the kinematics of both the redshifted off-centered broad and narrow emission-line components.…”

A Cohesive Deep Drilling Field Strategy for LSST Cosmology
Published 2024-01-01“…The DDFs are a critical piece of three key aspects of the LSST Dark Energy Science Collaboration (DESC) cosmological measurements: they provide a required calibration for photometric redshifts (photo- z ) and weak gravitational lensing (WL) measurements and they directly contribute to cosmological constraints from the most distant Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia). …”

Synthesis and Optical Properties of Triphenylene-Based Donor-Donor and Donor-Acceptor Conjugated Polymers: A Comparative Study
Published 2020-01-01“…P1 shows a broad emission in hexane but vibronically structured emissions in other solvents; in contrast, P2 exhibits a vibronically resolved emission in hexane, while exhibiting redshifted, broad, and featureless emissions in other solvents. …”

Neutrino-dominated Relativistic Viscous Accretion Flows around Rotating Black Holes with Shocks
Published 2025-01-01“…We employ our NDAF model formalism to elucidate ${L}_{\nu \bar{\nu }}^{{\rm{obs}}}$ for five GRBs with known redshifts and estimate their accretion rate ( $\dot{m}$ ) based on the spin ( a _k ) of the central source of the GRBs studied here.…”

Late-time Optical and X-Ray Emission Evolution of the Oxygen-rich SN 1996cr
Published 2025-01-01“…Magellan IMACS optical spectra taken in 2017 July and 2021 August show a very different spectrum from that seen in 2006 with broad, double-peaked optical emission lines of oxygen, argon, and sulfur with expansion velocities of ±4500 km s ^−1 . Redshifted emission components are considerably fainter compared to the blueshifted components, presumably due to internal extinction from dust in the SN ejecta. …”
