Spatio-temporal error concealment scheme based on H.264/AVC
Published 2007-01-01“…In order to reduce the influence of transmission errors on the reconstructed image quality in decoder,a novel spatio-temporal error concealment scheme was proposed.A hypothesis was made that the corrupted macro blocks(MB) distributed randomly in the frame which is sufficiently realistic and extensively used in literature.Firstly a directional in-terpolation based spatial error concealment algorithm was used which introduces a method similar with the intra predic-tion in the encoder. Then an 8×8 block based enhanced temporal error concealment algorithm was proposed, which im-proved the ability to deal with the high motions areas. Finally,a switch strategy between spatial and temporal error conceal-ment algorithm was addresse. It chooses an appropriate algorithm based on the adjacent MB coding modes.Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme is prior to the algorithms in H.264/AVC both in objective and subjective quality.…”

Numerical modelling of intergranular fracture in polycrystalline materials and grain size effects
Published 2013-04-01“…Since the shape and the parameters of the nonlocal CZM depend on the interface thickness, a distribution of interface fracture energies is obtained as a consequence of the randomness of the material microstructure. Using these data, fracture mechanics simulations are performed and the homogenized stress-strain curves of 2D representative volume elements (RVEs) are computed. …”

Determining Sensor Locations in Wireless Sensor Networks
Published 2015-08-01“…We show that the restricted problem is MAX-SNP hard and cannot be approximated within performance ratio 2 in polynomial time unless P = NP; we first propose a polynomial time 3 -approximation algorithm and then improve the ratio to 2 + ε for any given ε > 0 , by presenting a polynomial time randomized approximation algorithm, which is almost optimal to the restricted problem.…”

Spectrum sensing algorithm based on average value of middle part of power spectral density
Published 2016-07-01“…The difference between maximum and minimum value of the received signal power spectrum is distinct when the primary user signal is present or absent.Using this characteristic, the spectrum sensing algorithm based on the average of the middle part of power spectral density was proposed.Since the minimum of the signal power spectral density fluctuated, the minimum couldn't be accurately estimated from a frequency point. The minimum value of the power spectrum was estimated by using the average value of the middle part of the received signal power spectrum to reduce the effect of the randomness of minimum value on spectrum sensing performance. The expressions of detection threshold and detection probability were derived.Simulation results show that performance of the algorithm is better than those of the present spectrum sensing algorithms based on power spectrum density under the AWGN channel and the Rayleigh fading channel. The algorithm didn't need the primary user information and complicated eigenvalue decomposition.…”

Study on Scour Prevention Test of Three-Bucket Suction Piles for Offshore Wind Farms in Shapa,Yangjiang
Published 2023-01-01“…By establishing a normal physical model, the scour prevention of the seabed near three-bucket suction piles for offshore wind farms in Shapa,Yangjiang was studied. In view of the scour problem of the suction bucket foundation, protective measures such as riprap, sandbags, and bionic grass were put forward. The results show that when no protection scheme is implemented, the maximum scour depth around the pile in 50 years is 2.34 m;when the protection scheme is implemented, the scour depth around the bucket is significantly reduced and dropped by 44% when sandbags are regularly arranged. The scour depth is reduced by 32% when sandbags are randomly arranged and by 74% when riprap protection is adopted. In addition, the bionic grass not only reduces the scour depth around the pile but also promotes the suspended sand siltation nearby, and the scour depth around the bucket is reduced by about 90% compared with that before protection.…”

Improved information hiding algorithm based on twice positioning in coding channel
Published 2013-12-01“…Based on analysis of existing information hiding algorithms and capacities in coding channel, the defects of those existing algorithms were pointed out,and an improved information hiding algorithm with capacity upper limit analysis and based on twice positioning was proposed.the proposed algorithm, the information hiding capacity upper limit is firstly computed before embedding, and used for comparison with the size of hiding secret data. Then, twice posi-tioning scheme and cyclic shift mechanism for choosing the embedding position were used in the proposed algorithm.Simulation results show that, compared with those existing algorithms, the proposed algorithm is able to avoid the risk of exposure of the secret channel caused by capacity exceeding of hiding data.It can not only improve the randomness of the embedding position, but also avoid the risk of overlap among different secret data. The hiding performances of the coding channel information hiding system are improved.…”
