MagNet—A Data‐Science Competition to Predict Disturbance Storm‐Time Index (Dst) From Solar Wind Data by Manoj Nair, Rob Redmon, Li‐Yin Young, Arnaud Chulliat, Belinda Trotta, Christine Chung, Greg Lipstein, Isaac Slavitt

    Published 2023-10-01
“…Abstract Enhanced interaction between solar‐wind and Earth's magnetosphere can cause space weather and geomagnetic storms that have the potential to damage critical technologies, such as magnetic navigation, radio communications, and power grids. The severity of a geomagnetic storm is measured using the disturbance‐storm‐time (Dst) index. …”

The Sanya Incoherent Scatter Radar Tristatic System and Initial Experiments by Xinan Yue, Baiqi Ning, Lin Jin, Feng Ding, Changhai Ke, Junyi Wang, Ning Zhang, Yihui Cai, Mingyuan Li, Junhao Luo, Weiping Chen, Yunxia Zhang, Biqiang Zhao, Lingqi Zeng, Yonghui Wang

    Published 2024-09-01
“…Abstract Low latitude ionosphere experiences complex dynamical and electrodynamical processes, which make the spatiotemporal variations of the corresponding electron density complicated and therefore influence trans‐ionosphere radio communications. The monitoring of low latitude dynamical drivers, such as neutral wind and ionospheric electric field, is essential for both dynamic mechanism investigations and applications. …”

Adaptive co-site interference cancellation algorithm with multiple virtual references by Yue-lei XIE, Jie LIU, Min-zheng LI, Shan OUYANG, Gui-sheng LIAO

    Published 2015-04-01
“…Wireless radio communication is usually deteriorated by co-site interferences produced by collocated transmitters.A two-stage adaptive filter with multiple virtual references that drew from over sampled receiving signal is proposed to cancel the co-site interferences.Co-site interferences can be cancelled and the desired signal can be recovered by adjusting the weights of the first filter when pure interferences are received and adjusting the weights of the second filter when the desired signal is consisted in received signals. The simulation results show that the proposed adaptive co-site interferences cancellation algorithm without the coupling device can achieve better performance than traditional algorithms.…”

Pseudo chaotic pulse position modulation in UWB communications by XIANG Xin1, WANG Jie-ling2, ZENG Zhi-bin2, YI Ke-chu2, CHEN Shun-fang3

    Published 2009-01-01
“…A novel pseudo chaotic pulse position modulation(PCPPM) was proposed which was suitable for ultrawide-bandwith impulse radio communication systems,in this scheme, symbolic dynamics of a chaotic map was used for chaotic pulse position modulation(CPPM),the separation between the adjacent pulses were determined by chaotic dynamics and binary information was modulated onto this carrier by the pulse position modulation method.System could acquire synchronization automatically without any specific "hand shaking"protocol. The advantages of PCPPM are decrease of the measurement precision of interpulse intervals and suitable for all digital solution.Since a random distribution of interpulse intervals, the resulting spectrum is a noise like spectrum. Finally, the performances of PCPPM were analyzed and simulated.…”
