Autonomous security analysis and penetration testing model based on attack graph and deep Q-learning network by Cheng FAN, Guoqing HU, Taojie DING, Zhanhua ZHANG

    Published 2023-12-01
“…With the continuous development and widespread application of network technology, network security issues have become increasingly prominent.Penetration testing has emerged as an important method for assessing and enhancing network security. However, traditional manual penetration testing methods suffer from inefficiency, human error, and tester skills, leading to high uncertainty and poor evaluation results. To address these challenges, an autonomous security analysis and penetration testing framework called ASAPT was proposed, based on attack graphs and deep Q-learning networks (DQN).The ASAPT framework was consisted of two main components:training data construction and model training. In the training data construction phase, attack graphs were utilized to model the threats in the target network by representing vulnerabilities and possible attacker attack paths as nodes and edges.By integrating the common vulnerability scoring system (CVSS) vulnerability database, a “state-action”transition matrix was constructed, which depicted the attacker’s behavior and transition probabilities in different states. This matrix comprehensively captured the attacker’s capabilities and network security status. To reduce computational complexity, a depth-first search (DFS) algorithm was innovatively applied to simplify the transition matrix, identifying and preserving all attack paths that lead to the final goal for subsequent model training. In the model training phase, a deep reinforcement learning algorithm based on DQN was employed to determine the optimal attack path during penetration testing. The algorithm interacted continuously with the environment, updating the Q-value function to progressively optimize the selection of attack paths.Simulation results demonstrate that ASAPT achieves an accuracy of 84% in identifying the optimal path and exhibits fast convergence speed.Compared to traditional Q-learning, ASAPT demonstrates superior adaptability in dealing with large-scale network environments, which could provide guidance for practical penetration testing.…”

The Current Discussion on Austrian Family Benefits – Indicating a Major Dissensus on the Interpretation of EU Law by Alexander Balthasar

    Published 2020-11-01
“…What seems to be, at first sight, a flagrant breach of EU law (in particular of Article 7 of Regulation [EC] 883/2004) is, when looking deeper, much more complicated and might very well be only a symptom of deeply rooted differences in the interpretation of current, post-Lisbon Union law, (i)        in particular with regard to the relationship between the traditional prohibition of “discrimination on grounds of nationality” (Article 18 TFEU, Article 21(2) CFR; the  ‘Leitmotiv’ of the Treaties) and the “citizenship of the Union” (Article 9 second sentence TEU, Article 20(1), first and second sentence) on the one hand and the further role of the “nationality of a Member State” on the other, which shall, pursuant to Article 9 TEU, third sentence, as well as Article 20(1) TFEU, third sentence, not be replaced by the “citizenship of the Union”, (ii)       but also with regard to Article 352 TFEU, the scope of which is, most probably, much smaller than that of its predecessor, Article 308 TEC, (iii)      and last but not least, with regard to a proper understanding of the principle of equal treatment, requiring not to treat alike factually different situations. …”

    Published 2015-05-01
“…In the second case we have a deal with the principles which can carry out innovative activity: a) connection (unavoidable of freedom of researcher, and it correlates with the principle of epistemological anarchism ‘Anything goes’); b) inhomogeneity (maintenance of multiplicity of innovative decisions that correlates with postpositivistic principle of proliferation); c) multiplicity (attitude on principle refuse from tradition in innovative activity); d) a-signed break (non-line character of innovative processes); e) cartography (constructive character of innovations with possibility of variety of different senses); f) re-tracing (critical attitude to the past and probable results in the future). Barocco consist in specific of innovative activity on contemporary period and has some parameters: fold: innovative activity in conceptual and methodological aspects are carrying out as multiple folds, crossing of different sense fields: b) binary opposition ‘interior – exterior’: innovative activity is a point of crossing and break of spontaneous and determine processes; c) binary opposition ‘up – down’: innovative activity has non-line, topological character; d) extension: in innovative activity priority has process on ending; e) texture as sing of singular character of innovative process; f) paradigm underlines fundamental, whole, universal character of innovation.…”
