Analysis of a Single Species Model with Dissymmetric Bidirectional Impulsive Diffusion and Dispersal Delay
Published 2014-01-01“…In most models of population dynamics, diffusion between two patches is assumed to be either continuous or discrete, but in the real natural ecosystem, impulsive diffusion provides a more suitable manner to model the actual dispersal (or migration) behavior for many ecological species. …”

Comparative studies of the mountain Kinnekulle vegetation
Published 2024-02-01“…As part of our comparative study of Kinnekulle’s flora, between 2018 and 2023 we have studied population dynamics of plants growing there. In the present study, we compare our plant inventory results and those provided by Carl Linnaeus in his book “Västgöta Resa År 1746” (“The trip to Västra Götaland, 1746”), providing evidence that most of the plants listed by Linnaeus can still be found in the Kinnekulle area (58–94% occurrence). …”

A Duality Approach to the Genealogies of Discrete Nonneutral Wright-Fisher Models
Published 2009-01-01“…In the neutral case, the duality concept has been proved of particular interest in the understanding of backward in time ancestral process from the forward in time branching population dynamics. We show that duality formulae still are of great use when considering discrete nonneutral Wright-Fisher models. …”

The Neimark–Sacker Bifurcation and Global Stability of Perturbation of Sigmoid Beverton–Holt Difference Equation
Published 2021-01-01“…This difference equation is one of the perturbations of the sigmoid Beverton–Holt difference equation, which is a major mathematical model in population dynamics. We will show that this difference equation exhibits transcritical and Neimark–Sacker bifurcations but not flip (period-doubling) bifurcation since this difference equation cannot have period-two solutions. …”

Modeling and Dynamic Analysis in a Hybrid Stochastic Bioeconomic System with Double Time Delays and Lévy Jumps
Published 2018-01-01“…A double delayed hybrid stochastic prey-predator bioeconomic system with Lévy jumps is established and analyzed, where commercial harvesting on prey and environmental stochasticity on population dynamics are considered. Two discrete time delays are utilized to represent the maturation delay of prey and gestation delay of predator, respectively. …”

Modeling evolution and persistence of neurological viral diseases in wild populations
Published 2008-09-01“…Viral infections are one of the leading source of mortality worldwide. The great majority of them circulate and persist in wild reservoirs and periodically spill over into humans or domestic animals. In the wild reservoirs, the progression of disease is frequently quite different from that in spillover hosts. We propose a mathematical treatment of the dynamics of viral infections in wild mammals using models with alternative outcomes. We develop and analyze compartmental epizootic models assuming permanent or temporary immunity of the individuals surviving infections and apply them to rabies in bats.We identify parameter relations that support the existing patterns in the viral ecology and estimate those parameters that are unattainable through direct measurement. We also investigate how the duration of the acquired immunity affects the disease and population dynamics.…”
