Discussion on the Application of Water Environment Treatment and Three-water Separation Project in Shenzhen by TANG Yawen, CHEN Wangwang

    Published 2022-01-01
“…To fulfill the overall requirement of long-term cleanliness and sustainable development of the water environment in Shenzhen, this paper investigates the Longgang River Basin Water Environment Management Project to propose a general three-water separation plan that integrates “closed sewage system, open rainwater system, and efficient interception system”.Tracing to the source and diversion of key outlets and sewage interception transformation are carried out to release the clean base flow, drive the sewage system to be relatively independent from the initial light rain system, and ultimately to slow down non-point source pollution, improve the quality and efficiency of the sewage treatment plant, and strengthen the operation and maintenance scheduling of the pipe network system. With the implementation of the three-water separation project, the influent biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) concentration of the sewage treatment plant in the Longgang River Basin is significantly lower than that in 2019 after the second half of 2020.Therefore,applying the three-water separation project to water environment treatment is essential for fulfilling the assessment requirements on water control and quality improvement in Shenzhen and accomplishing relevant construction tasks.…”

Study on Sustainable Utilization of Water Resources i n Karst Regions of Guangxi by GUANG Yao_hua

    Published 2001-01-01
“…Guangxi is characterized by uneven distribution of water resources in time and space, serious flood and waterlogging, fragile ge ologic environment in karst regions, soil erosion and wide spreading of rock dese rts.I n supply and demands of water resources problems lie in insufficient storage cap acity, water pollution and poor management of water resources. It is concluded tha t all karst regions in Guangxi fall short of water in varying degrees except for those situated in northeast Guangxi. For developing water resources in karst reg ions in Guangxi the author puts forward the following measures:exploiting modera tely karst water to increase the ratio of ground water in water resources deve l opment;storing rationally both surface and ground water to enhance active capaci ty;overdrawing artificially the shallow karst water and recharging;exploiting ka rst rivers;buliding rain collection tanks;speeding up construction of large hyd r aulic and hydropower projects;building headwater forest areas;spreading water sa ving farming;strengthening protection and management of water resources environm ent and relocating extremely poor population inhabited in karst regions. The auth or also introduces briefly the optimum regional allocation of water resources.…”
