Mast Cells Positive to Tryptase and c-Kit Receptor Expressing Cells Correlates with Angiogenesis in Gastric Cancer Patients Surgically Treated
Published 2013-01-01“…The Pearson test correlating MCPT and MVD, c-KitR-EC and MVD was significantly (r=0.64, P=0.001; r=0.66, P=0.041, resp.). Conclusion. In this pilot study, we suggest that MCPT and c-KitR-EC play a role in gastric cancer angiogenesis, so we think that several c-KitR or tryptase inhibitors such as gabexate mesilate and nafamostat mesilate might be evaluated in clinical trials as a new antiangiogenetic approach.…”

Using microfluidic shear to assess transfusion requirements in trauma patients
Published 2024-05-01“…A decreased maximum PCF showed significant correlation with receiving any transfusion at 6 (p=0.04) and 24 hours (p=0.02) as well as transfusion of pRBCs, fresh frozen plasma, and platelets in the first 6 hours (p=0.03, p=0.03, p=0.03, respectively). Conclusions Assessing coagulopathy in real time remains challenging in trauma patients. In this pilot study, we demonstrated that microfluidic approaches incorporating shear stress could predict transfusion requirements at time of admission as well as requirements in the first 24 hours.Level of evidence Level II.…”

Efficacy and Safety of Low-Dose Lenvatinib and Toripalimab in Patients With Recurrent Platinum-Resistant Ovarian Cancer: Study Protocol of a Multicenter, Open-Label, Single-Arm, Ph...
Published 2025-02-01“…Chemotherapy-free option lenvatinib plus anti-programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) combination therapy has shown promising results in several malignancies including ovarian cancer, but the toxicity of a high starting dose of lenvatinib is also notable and needs to be improved. Our previous pilot study indicated that a reduced starting dose of lenvatinib may maintain comparable anti-tumor activity with favorable safety in heavily pre-treated ovarian cancer. …”

Characterization of Different Sources of Human MSCs Expanded in Serum-Free Conditions with Quantification of Chondrogenic Induction in 3D
Published 2019-01-01“…This chondrogenic differentiation was specifically ascertained by the production of procollagen IIB, the only type II collagen isoform synthesized by well-differentiated chondrocytes. As a pilot study toward cartilage engineering, we encapsulated BM-MSCs in hydrogel and developed an original method to evaluate their chondrogenic conversion by flow cytometry analysis, after release of the cells from the hydrogel. …”
