Blind decoding method for a multi-cell massive antenna array system by Binbin YAN, Lei SHEN, Xianyang JIANG, Yu HAN

    Published 2016-08-01
“…In order to overcome the pilot contamination and reduction of decoding performance resulted by neighbouring cell pilot sequences reuse in multi-cell massive array MIMO system,a blind decoding method based on ICA was proposed. The proposed blind decoding method used ICA to separate the received signals of multi-cell users without using pilot sequences. Thus, pilot contamination was avoided and decoding performance would be optimized.Every user’s angle-of-arrival(AOA)was estimated for recognizing the desired user signals and overcoming the uncertainty of signals separated by ICA.The analytical performance and numerical results show that the proposed method has a better performance compared to MMSE decoding and blind decoding method based on singular value decomposition(SVD).…”

GAN-based channel estimation for massive MIMO system by Yuxiu HUA, Rongpeng LI, Zhifeng ZHAO, Jianjun WU, Honggang ZHANG

    Published 2021-06-01
“…As a key technology of 5G, massive MIMO system can significantly improve spectrum efficiency and energy efficiency by equipping a large number of antennas in base stations. However, in massive MIMO system, accurate channel estimation faces severe challenges. In order to estimate the channel accurately when the pilot sequence length is smaller than the number of transmitting antennas and the channel noise is strong, the estimation method N2N-GAN was proposed.N2N-GAN firstly denoised the pilot channel at the receiving end, and then used the conditional generative adversarial network to estimate the channel matrix according to the denoised pilot signal.Simulation experiments show that N2N-GAN achieves better robustness against noise compared with traditional channel estimation algorithms and deep learning-based methods.Meanwhile, it can adapt to scenarios with fewer pilot symbols and more antennas.…”

Pattern division random access (PDRA) scheme for mMIMO systems by Xiaoming DAI, Lizhuo PANG, Zheng CHANG, Xinyue ZHANG, Yiran XING, Xiyuan WANG

    Published 2022-10-01
“…To enhance the massive machine-type communications (mMTC) random access (RA) performance, a pattern division random access (PDRA) scheme was proposed for massive multiple-input multiple-output (mMIMO) systems. In this scheme, the pilot contention space was expanded to the pattern-domain.To enlarge the size of contention space without resorting to increasing the physical resources, the pattern-domain pilot was constructed based on the superposition of L cyclically-shifted Zadoff-Chu (ZC) sequences.Simulation results illustrate that the PDRA scheme can reduce pilot collision probability significantly, and improve the access success probability compared with the conventional RA scheme, without compromising excessively on channel estimation and data detection performance.…”

Doubly-selective channel estimation for generalized frequency division multiplexing systems based on deep learning by Ying WANG, Jun REN, Ke SHI, Bin LIN

    Published 2021-10-01
“…There exist intrinsic inter-carrier interference and inter-subsymbol interference in generalized frequency division multiplexing (GFDM) systems.Under condition of time-frequency doubly selective channels, severe effects of pilot contamination would occur and lead to significant performance degradation for the pilot-based channel estimations. To this end, a channel estimation framework for GFDM systems based on deep learning was proposed, which took the low-resolution image constructed with the least squares estimated channel gains of the pilot symbols as input.Consequently, a high-resolution image about the channel time-frequency response was recovered through a deep residual network, and the channel estimation was achieved for GFDM systems.A simulation system for the proposed GFDM time-frequency doubly selective channel estimation algorithm based on deep residual network was developed, and the optimal parameters of the deep residual network were determined through an offline training process.Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve better performance near to minimum mean square error (MMSE) estimation in terms of estimation error and bit error rate (BER), and has robust Doppler frequency shift generalization capability.…”
