Network Pharmacology and Experimental Validation of the Therapeutic Effect of Baji Capsule on LPS-Induced Osteoporosis
Published 2025-02-01“…The therapeutic effect of Baji capsule was evaluated by high-resolution micro-computed tomography (Micro-CT) and tissue section staining, serum inflammatory factor levels were assessed by ELISA, serum oxidative stress-related marker levels were determined by kits, and finally the mechanism was explored by network pharmacology and then verified by immunohistochemistry. Results: Micro-CT results showed that Baji capsule attenuated LPS-induced inflammatory bone loss.Baji capsule also reduced serum inflammatory factor levels and oxygen free radical production. Target screening by network pharmacology yielded a total of 236 active ingredients of Baji capsule, as well as 278 common targets after taking the intersection of Baji capsule active ingredient targets and osteoporosis disease-related targets. Conclusion: Baji capsule can treat osteoporosis by reducing inflammation and oxidative stress. …”

ALDH2 Overexpression Alleviates High Glucose-Induced Cardiotoxicity by Inhibiting NLRP3 Inflammasome Activation
Published 2019-01-01“…The results showed in high glucose condition that ALDH2 overexpression significantly increased H9C2 cardiac cell viability, increased mitochondrial ALDH2 activity and protein expression, and reduced mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, 4-hydroxynonenal (4-HNE), and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) levels; meanwhile, the pyroptosis key components—NLRP3 inflammasome-related proteins, apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a caspase recruitment domain (ASC), cysteine-containing aspartate specific protease 1 (Caspase-1), and interleukin-18 (IL-18) protein expressions—were significantly decreased, and IL-18 and interleukin-1β (IL-1β) levels were also decreased. …”

Molybdate delays sulphide formation in the sediment and transfer to the bulk liquid in a model shrimp pond
Published 2024-05-01“…Sodium molybdate (5 and 25 mg/L Na2MoO4.2H2O) was applied as a preventive strategy to control sulphide production before oxygen depletion. Molybdate addition partially mitigated H2S production in the sediment, and delayed its transfer to the bulk liquid by pushing the higher sulphide concentration zone towards deeper sediment layers. …”
