Study on distributed and dynamic resource management for delay-sensitive sensor network by Wei LIU, Jun LIU

    Published 2017-07-01
“…The delay-aware dynamic resource management problem was investigated in sensor network, with a focus on resource allocation among the sensors and power control along the time.By taking account of average delay requirements and power constraints, the considered problem was formulated into a stochastic optimization problem.Inspired by Lyapunov optimization theory, the intractable stochastic optimization problem was transformed into a tractable deterministic optimization problem, which was a mixed-integer resource management problem.By exploiting the specific problem structure, the mixed-integer resource management problem was equivalently transformed into a single variable problem, and the cooperative distributed method was present to effectively solve it with guaranteed global optimality. Finally,a dynamic resource management algorithm was proposed to solve the original stochastic optimization problem.Simulation results show the performance of the proposed dynamic algorithm and reveal that there exists a fundamental tradeoff between delay requirements and power consumption.…”

Coverage in airborne backbone network by Bo ZHENG, Hengyang ZHANG, Yong LI, Wei CHENG

    Published 2018-11-01
“…The high-altitude long-durance unmanned aerial vehicle (HALE-UAV) equipped with directional antenna and the cuboid-shaped air corridor (AC) were taken as the study objects, and the basic idea was to extract the invariant coverage area of moving spherical cones, cylinder,as the basic component to fill AC.The general goal was to employ HALE-UAV as few as possible under the condition that the height of the cylinder was larger than that of AC.The circular and triangular orbits of HALE-UAV were analyzed in geometry respectively, and the mathematical expressions of the radius and height of the cylinder were derived. Then two coverage schemes were introduced.Through comparing the two schemes by optimization theory, the optimal coverage strategy was derived. Results show that the circular orbit is better than the triangular orbit. Moreover, the optimal solution is to employ the quasi-static floating platforms, and the suboptimal is to adopt the circular orbit of a small radius,or the triangular orbit of a small side, with a HALE-UAV on an orbit.…”

Scrambler blind recognition method based on soft information by Ze-liang CHEN, Hua PENG, Ke-xian GONG, Pei-dong YU

    Published 2017-03-01
“…Two scrambler blind recognition methods based on soft information were proposed for received signal in non-cooperative ways. The first method established a cost function of the scrambler coefficients by using the soft information, and adopted the optimization theory of real number field for positive solution. So it didn’t need to traverse the closed set of test polynomial any more. The second method built conformity degree concept with the soft information, and used the size of conformity of each test scrambler polynomial as the discriminant criteria. So it made more full use of the received information compared to the hard sentence recognition algorithm.Simulation results show that the first method can shorten the recognition time of a synchronous scrambler polynomial from 5 min 18 s to 8 s compared with the traversal method put forward by Cluzeau, and the second method has 2 dB SNR gain when to achieve the relatively high accuracy compared with the hard sentence recognition algorithm.…”

Energy-efficient and QoS-supported deployment strategy of dense Macro-Femto cellular network by Yun LI, Chunsheng WANG, Bin CAO, Qilie LIU

    Published 2018-07-01
“…With the exponentially increasing of users’ demand for mobile data traffic, massive small cells have been deployed to satisfy the users’ quality of service (QoS) by operators. However,a significant energy would be consumed caused by dense deployment. To this end,a dense heterogeneous cellular network deployment strategy was proposed with QoS guarantee to decline system energy consumption.Firstly,a dense Macro-Femto biased cellular network was used to build the network model, the two QoS indicators of SINR coverage and user average rate was analyzed by stochastic geometry theory. Then, under the condition of QoS constraint, average spatial power consumption (ASPC) was taken as the optimization goal, optimal deploy density and transmission power of Femto were achieved by using optimization theory. Finally, the experimental results show that, comparing with the traditional strategy which only considering base station density, the proposed strategy has advantages in terms of energy efficiency while QoS guarantee.…”

Routing algorithm for railway monitoring linear WSN based on improved PSO by Cuiran LI, Xuejie WANG, Jianli XIE, Anqi LYU

    Published 2022-05-01
“…To solve the problems of short network lifetime and large data transmission delay, caused by unbalanced node energy consumption of linear wireless sensor network in railway monitoring scenario, a routing algorithm based on particle swarm optimization theory and breadth first search was proposed. The fitness function was constructed based on the relative energy consumption, spacing and load of candidate cluster heads. The local search ability of particle swarm algorithm was enhanced by adjusting the inertia weight coefficient to set up the cluster head optimal set.Meanwhile, a path cost function driven by energy consumption and delay was built up, and the optimal main path from the source node to the sink node was obtained by breadth first search.Lastly, a Q-learning alternative path updating and route maintenance mechanism based on discrete Markov decision process (MDP) was designed.Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can balance the node energy consumption effectively, and has also advantages in prolonging the network lifetime and reducing the data transmission delay.…”

Development of Process Automation System for Structural Design of the Wind Turbine Gearbox by Dong Huimin, Han Mengke, Qiu Jun, Wang Delun, Liang Shiwen, Jia Ping

    Published 2017-01-01
“…The current experience-dominated structural design process separates the structural design from CAE analysis in the development of a new wind turbine gearbox, which leads to a quite long-term development cycle and the redundancy of structural materials.Consequently,a new structural design process is presented based on topological optimization theory and combined with CAE.Through a secondary development for Hyperworks with C# and TCL / TK language,a new process automatic system characterized by lightweight structure for the structural design of wind turbine gearboxes is developed. The operability of the system is testified by the instance of designing a planet carrier. The case indicates that the process automatic system can lead designers to finish the lightweight-oriented structural design for wind turbine gearbox parts, and the pre and post processing efficiency can increase by 90% than the current process, and the development cycle of new products of wind turbine gearbox is shorten enormously.…”
