A Statistical Model of Inner Magnetospheric Electron Density: Van Allen Probes Observations by Jing‐Tian Lv, Xiao‐Xin Zhang, Fei He, Rui‐Lin Lin

    Published 2022-10-01
“…Comparison between the model outputs and the VAP's observations indicates that this statistical model could accurately describe the dynamic distribution characteristics of plasmaspheric electron density in the MEP during geomagnetic storms, such as erosion and refilling, and can be applied to space weather forecast.…”

Robust High-Gain Observers Based Liquid Levels and Leakage Flow Rate Estimation by Feten Smida, Salim Hadj Saïd, Faouzi M’sahli

    Published 2018-01-01
“…We have proposed a state repartition that allows putting the model of the quadruple tank system to the canonical form for which the design of the observer is more easier. The observation scheme that uses a combination of high-gain observers and sliding mode observers allows improving robustness in the state estimation quality and a perfect reconstruction of the disturbance waveforms.…”

Analysis of Temporal-spatial Characteristics of Coastal Surface Currents in the Lianyungang Based on HFSWR Observations by ZHANG Wenya, PAN Guangwei, QIU Zhongfeng, REN Lei, XU Qing

    Published 2021-01-01
“…Based on the surface current data observed by high frequency surface wave radar (HFSWA) near the shore of Lianyungang from January 2019 to December 2019,this paper analyzes the temporal-spatial characteristics of sea surface current. The results show that:as the regular semidiurnal current, the current turns to reciprocating current near the shore in a southwest-northeast direction, with centralized flow in ebb and flow. The reciprocating current weakens from the shore to the sea,as a result,it gradually turns into rotating current. The average major axis of the current ellipse is 44.34 cm/s for M2-component,11.71 cm/s for S2-component,and 12.85 cm/s for MKS2-component.The measured maximum surface current velocity is between 100 cm/s and 199 cm/s,which mainly occurs in autumn and winter, with little difference in space. There are significant seasonal variations in the temporal-spatial characteristics of the sea surface current field, and the velocity vector field has a trend of counterclockwise rotation. The maximum current velocity in this sea area may be between 44 cm/s and 158 cm/s,with the average value of 89 cm/s.In addition, the current velocity gradually decreases from southeast to northwest.…”

dotears: Scalable and consistent directed acyclic graph estimation using observational and interventional data by Albert Xue, Jingyou Rao, Sriram Sankararaman, Harold Pimentel

    Published 2025-02-01
“…Causal regulatory networks can be represented by directed acyclic graphs (DAGs), but lack of identifiability and a combinatorial solution space complicate learning DAGs from observational data. Score-based methods have improved the practical scalability of inferring DAGs, but are sensitive to error variance structure. …”
