Les aqueducs de Rome : les activités de la Surintendance capitoline, une contribution essentielle à la recherche by Marina Marcelli, Massimiliano Munzi

    Published 2023-12-01
“…The tool used for this purpose is a Geographical Information System (GIS) designed to collect all the information needed to implement maintenance and conservation activities. The focus of the project was the elevated structures of five aqueducts for a total length of approximately 18 km: Aqua Alexandrina, a Neronian aqueduct on the Caelian Hill, and the three still functioning aqueducts (Aqua Virgo, Aqua Traiana and acquedotto Felice).Carried out by a multidisciplinary team (archaeologists, architects, restorers), the project consisted of assessments of the risk status of the structures based on parameters of various types, such as biological damage, structural and surface degradation, humidity-related phenomena. In addition to natural and environmental causes, anthropogenic factors play a significant role and are often the main cause of structural degradation.By setting standardised parameters relating to the state of preservation and factors of degradation, different levels of risk were attributed, reflecting degrees of urgency. …”

A synthesis of <i>Sphagnum</i> litterbag experiments: initial leaching losses bias decomposition rate estimates by H. Teickner, H. Teickner, E. Pebesma, K.-H. Knorr

    Published 2025-01-01
“…We also estimated large <span class="inline-formula"><i>l</i>0</span> (<span class="inline-formula">&gt;5</span> mass-%) for only air-dried samples, which could imply that <i>Sphagnum</i> litterbag experiments with dried litter are unrepresentative for natural decomposition processes in which <span class="inline-formula"><i>l</i>0</span> may be smaller according to leaching experiments with fresh litter.…”

Caesalpinia sappan L. ethyl acetate extract regulated angiogenesis in atherosclerosis by modulating the miR-126/VEGF signalling pathway by Yue He, Chao Huang, Jingjing Chen, Weizeng Shen

    Published 2025-02-01
“…Conclusion: This study emphasises CSEAE as a natural medicinal extract for the treatment of AS that can improve the migratory viability and reduce the apoptosis of HUVECs to maintain the health of the arterial endothelial microenvironment, while CSEAE also inhibits angiogenesis and delays plaque formation in ApoE−/− mice, suggesting that the therapeutic effect of CSEAE for AS may be related to its inhibition of neovascularisation and that its molecular mechanism may be related to the miR-126/VEGF signalling pathway.…”
