Left Ventricular End-Systolic Volume Is a Reliable Predictor of New-Onset Heart Failure with Preserved Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction
Published 2020-01-01“…A correlation analysis revealed that LVESVI was significantly associated with log BNP level (r = 0.356, p<0.001), +dP/dt (r = −0.324, p<0.001), −dP/dt (r = 0.391, p<0.001), and tau (r = 0.337, p<0.001). Multivariable analysis with a stepwise procedure using the variables with statistical significance in the univariable analysis revealed that aging, an increase in BNP level, and enlargement of LVESVI were significant prognostic indicators (age: HR: 1.071, 95% CI: 1.009–1.137, p=0.024; log BNP : HR : 1.533, 95% CI: 1.090–2.156, p=0.014; LVESVI : HR : 1.051, 95% CI: 1.011–1.093, p=0.013, respectively). …”

Right ventricular–pulmonary artery coupling in cardiac resynchronization therapy: evolution and prognosis
Published 2022-06-01“…Survival rates at 3 and 5 year follow‐up were significantly lower for patients with a TAPSE/PASP ratio <0.45 mm/mmHg (76% and 58%, respectively), compared with those with a TAPSE/PASP ratio ≥0.45 mm/mmHg (91% and 82%, respectively) (P < 0.001). On multivariable analysis, TAPSE/PASP ratio <0.45 mm/mmHg (hazard ratio 1.437; 95% confidence interval: 1.145–1.805; P = 0.002) was independently associated with all‐cause mortality, whereas TAPSE <17 mm (hazard ratio 1.237; 95% confidence interval: 0.990–1.546; P = 0.061) was not. …”

Published 2025-02-01“…Comparative analysis revealed that the TTR-higher group exhibited a younger demographic, a higher prevalence of low colorectal cancers, an elevated R0 resection rate, superior differentiation, earlier stage and lower levels of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) in contrast to the TTR-lower group. The Cox multivariable analysis underscored the significance of TTR and various clinicopathological factors, encompassing age, tumor location, R0 resection status, differentiation grade, disease stage, postoperative chemoradiotherapy, and preoperative CEA levels, as substantial prognostic indicators. …”

Age‐related longitudinal change in cardiac structure and function in adults at increased cardiovascular risk
Published 2020-06-01“…Age was associated with longitudinal increase in left ventricular (LV) mass index (LVMI); decrease in LV volumes; increase in LV ejection fraction; decrease in mitral annular systolic velocity; decrease in diastolic function (decreased mitral early diastolic annular velocity (e′); and increase in left atrial volume index, mitral peak early diastolic flow velocity (E)/e′ ratio, and tricuspid regurgitant velocity (TRVmax) in men and women, except for TRVmax in men). In multivariable analysis, longitudinal increase in LVMI was explained by CVD risk factors alone, whereas age, together with CVD risk factors, independently predicted longitudinal change in all other echocardiographic parameters. …”

Prognosis of nodal micrometastasis in resectable pN0 non-small cell lung cancer
Published 2025-01-01“…Among pN0 patients, nodal micrometastasis was found in 21 cases (21.43%), distributed as follows: 2 (2.04%) in hilar and interlobar regions (N1), 17 (17.35%) in the mediastinal region (N2), and 2 in both hilar and mediastinal regions (N1+N2) (2.04%).Univariable analysis revealed that male sex and the presence of tumor necrosis increased both the recurrence rate of lung cancer and the mortality rate, whereas larger tumor size, intra-tumoral vascular invasion, and pleural invasion were associated solely with cancer recurrence. However, multivariable analysis showed no statistically significant difference in disease-free survival and overall survival between pN0 patients with and without NMM, with hazard ratios of 0.98 (95% CI: 0.31-3.08, P=0.973) and 1.11 (95% CI: 0.23-5.42, P=0.900), respectively.ConclusionNodal micrometastasis was identified in 21.43% of pN0 resectable NSCLC patients. …”
