(2) In addition to the negative linear relationship between education and social welfare services and ESs, the response thresholds of other RPSs and ESs were identified. (3) According to multiple density threshold analysis of each RPS’s response to ESs, four functional areas were obtained. …”

Paleoclimatic and paleoenvironmental constraints on organic matter enrichment in the Paleocene strata in the Lishui Sag, East China Sea Shelf Basin by Shiyan Yin, Chuang Lei, Jiaren Ye, Jingfu Wu, Yu Wang, Ying Zhang, Xiaoying Han

    Published 2025-03-01
“…Using major and trace element analyses, this study investigated the impacts of paleoclimatic and paleoenvironmental variations on organic matter enrichment in the Paleocene Yueguifeng, Lingfeng, and Mingyuefeng formations in the Lishui Sag, East China Sea Shelf Basin. Multiple geochemical proxies suggest that during the deposition of the three formations, the paleoclimate evolved from a humid climate to an arid and then back to humid conditions, the paleosalinity conditions underwent brackish, saline, and fresh water sequentially, and the paleowater conditions shifted from relatively deep water to relatively shallow water and then to shallow water. …”

Multidimensional analysis and enhancement strategies for ecological environment quality at the county level under dual carbon goals: a case study of Shaanxi Province, China by Jianfeng Li, Jianfeng Li, Jianfeng Li, Yongxin Hu, Yongxin Hu, Jian Li, Liangyan Yang, Liangyan Yang, Jie Yan

    Published 2025-01-01
“…The results indicate that: 1) From 2000 to 2020, the overall EEQ in Shaanxi Province showed a fluctuating upward trend, improving from a moderate level to a good level, although some counties experienced slight degradation from 2010 to 2020. 2) The spatial distribution of county-level EEQ displayed a “low-high-low-high” gradient from north to south, indicating superior ecological conditions in the southern and central-northern counties, while northern regions faced significant ecological challenges. 3) The future trend of EEQ in Shaanxi Province is expected to be one of continuous improvement, although attention must be paid to the ongoing degradation risks in highly urbanized areas. 4) The spatial differentiation of county-level EEQ is primarily driven by climate factors and influenced by the synergistic effects of multiple factors. For counties with varying levels of EEQ, it is essential to comprehensively consider the interactions between climate, topography, and human factors, and to implement tailored carbon sequestration enhancement strategies. …”

Le réseau hydraulique à Pompéi (Italie) de l’époque des Samnites à Auguste (fin ive-fin ier s. av. J.-C.) by Federico Giletti

    Published 2023-12-01
“…Here the archaeological data has made it possible to trace the presence, below the later domus, of buildings from the 2nd century BC, built behind the city walls and basing part of their southernmost rooms on the sequence of cisterns with multiple vaulted chambers. While it is true that the decision to install chambered cisterns to regulate the slope of the hillside may have served to enlarge the building spaces, it is equally plausible that their purpose was also to provide the city wall defences with water reserves to supply the militia in case of siege or fire, in accordance with a common practice in ancient urban design. The military value of some of these cisterns, however, lost its significance after the establishment of the colony, as did walled fortifications. …”
