Noise-augmented chaotic Ising machines for combinatorial optimization and sampling
Published 2025-01-01“…Analog Ising machines with coupled oscillators could draw inspiration from our approach, as running replicas at constant temperature eliminates the need for global modulation of coupling strengths. Ultimately, mixing stochasticity with deterministic c-bits yields a powerful hybrid computing scheme that can offer benefits in asynchronous, massively parallel hardware implementations.…”

Control of Cross Talk between Angiogenesis and Inflammation by Mesenchymal Stem Cells for the Treatment of Ocular Surface Diseases
Published 2016-01-01“…Although it is still under debate whether MSCs could give rise to functional corneal cells, recent results from different study groups showed that MSCs could improve corneal disease recovery through suppression of inflammation and modulation of immune cells. Thus, MSCs could become a promising tool for ocular surface disorders. …”

Are Systematic Screening for Vitamin D Deficiency and Vitamin D Supplementation Currently Feasible for Ankylosing Spondylitis Patients?
Published 2017-01-01“…Beyond its role in calcium and phosphorus metabolism for healthy bone mineralization, there is increasing awareness for vitamin D contribution in modulation of immune reactions. Given that ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a chronic inflammatory disease involving excess immune/inflammatory activity and posing great therapeutic challenges, it is conceivable to claim that vitamin D treatment may be a safe and effective treatment to influence or modify the primary disease and its related comorbidities. …”

Mutations to transcription factor MAX allosterically increase DNA selectivity by altering folding and binding pathways
Published 2025-01-01“…By applying thermodynamic and kinetic models to these results and previous observations for the highly similar yet far more selective TF Pho4 (S. cerevisiae), we find that these mutations enhance selectivity by altering partitioning between or affinity within conformations with different intrinsic selectivity, providing a mechanistic basis for allosteric modulation of ligand selectivity. These results highlight the importance of conformational heterogeneity in determining sequence selectivity and can guide future efforts to engineer selective proteins.…”

Research and performance analysis on multi-point light-emitting diodes-array intra-vehicle visible light communication systems with DC-biased optical–orthogonal...
Published 2017-09-01“…Meanwhile, in order to resist the inter-symbol interference caused by multipath dispersion, DC-biased optical–orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing modulation strategy is suggested. The performance parameters of signal-to-noise ratio, the root-mean-square delay spread, and maximum transmission rate have been analyzed and calculated theoretically based on direct and multipath reflected channel models of visible light communication. …”
