Effects of Fungi-Mediated Solid-State Fermentation on Phenolic Contents and Antioxidant Activity of Brown and White Teff (Eragrostis tef (Zucc.)... by Yoseph Asmelash Gebru, Desta Berhe Sbhatu

    Published 2020-01-01
“…This study aimed at investigating changes in phenolic profiles and antioxidant activities of white and brown teff grains during mushroom-mediated solid-state fermentation. Fermentation with mushroom considerably increased total phenol contents of the soluble phenol fraction with Ganoderma lucidum showing relatively higher increase than Pleurotus ostreatus. …”

The influence of light and heavy training weeks on the cortisol and testosterone awakening responses of elite male judokas: is skeletal muscle damage a mediating factor? by Blair T. Crewther, Benjamin G. Serpell, Christian J. Cook, Zbigniew Obmiński

    Published 2024-04-01
“…The post-awakening decline in plasma testosterone (TAR Δb30 , TAR AUCb30 , TAR AUCb60 ) was found to be significantly less pronounced, whilst CK level was elevated, after heavy than light training with effect-size differences of 0.95–1.04 and 4.70, respectively. Causal mediation analysis confirmed that CK mediated, in part, the training effect on the CAR, but not TAR, measures. …”

Aspergillus fumigatus Influences Gasdermin-D-Dependent Pyroptosis of the Lung via Regulating Toll-Like Receptor 2-Mediated Regulatory T Cell Differentiation by Wei Yan, Yi-si Zhao, Ke Xie, Yu Xing, Fang Xu

    Published 2021-01-01
“…The immune escape of pathogens may be through suppressing the inflammatory response mediated by regulatory T cells (Tregs). The aim of this study was to explore whether A. fumigatus influences Gasdermin-D-dependent pyroptosis of the lung by regulating Toll-like receptor 2-mediated regulatory T cell differentiation. …”

UBE2T/CDC42/CD276 signaling axis mediates brain metastasis of triple-negative breast cancer via lysosomal autophagy by Lin Li, Rong Fu, Yan Chen, Jin Yao, Xiaobing Jiang, Tao Liang, Jun jun Li, Qian zhi Chen, Liang Liang Shi, Ming Xing Xie, Xin Wei Qiao, Qi Hong Cheng, Min Jie Wang

    Published 2025-02-01
“…Mechanistically, UBE2T directly interacts with CDC42, promoting its K48-linked polyubiquitination and proteasomal degradation, thereby inhibiting CDC42 from degrading CD276 via the autophagy-lysosomal pathway, indirectly upregulating CD276 and thereby impairing the CD8+ T cells function, ultimately mediating tumor immune escape and BrM. Finally, animal experimental results also showed that inhibition of UBE2T elevated the TNBC sensitivity to immune checkpoint CD276 blockade and inhibited BrM of TNBC.Conclusions In conclusion, our results indicate a new mechanism whereby UBE2T-mediated ubiquitination positively controls the UBE2T/CDC42/CD276 axis to upregulate tumor cell expression of CD276 and thereby impair CD8+ T cells function, ultimately leading to tumor cell immune escape and BrM.…”

Pseudorabies virus infection triggers pUL46-mediated phosphorylation of connexin-43 and closure of gap junctions to promote intercellular virus spread. by Alexander Tishchenko, Nicolás Romero, Cliff Van Waesberghe, Jonas L Delva, Oliver Vickman, Gregory A Smith, Thomas C Mettenleiter, Walter Fuchs, Barbara G Klupp, Herman W Favoreel

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Here, we describe how the alphaherpesvirus pseudorabies virus (PRV) triggers ERK1/2-mediated phosphorylation of the main gap junction component connexin 43 (Cx43) and closure of GJIC, which depends on the viral protein pUL46. …”
